Elder Collins

Hello Family,
Well pretty sure this week was the longest week of my life. After talking to you guys it passed by slow. But i saw a clip about the Savior from elder Holland and he always knows how to but fire in your pants and illuminate the spirit in whatever moment. I felt like i needed the spirit way more in my life. Its easy to forget that this isnt my work.  This week ive been fighting to get some baptisms down. I was supposed to have three yesterday but only one worked out. They are all 18-23 year old boys and for me its kind of a headache to teach that age. Here its just too easy for a boy to drink or to fall with his girlfriend. It really is a miracle when a boy from the jungle leaves on a mission because the temptation is really hard for them here. Thats what happened with one of our investigators he drank over Christmas so wasnt able to be baptized. The night he was supposed to be baptized he called our house at 1 am drunk yelling i should have been baptized.. it kind of frustrated me, just showed me that he´s not ready to make this covenant right now. The other boy just never showed up, we went to pick him up at his house to go to the chapel together and he just never showed up. But apart from all that we baptized percy pizango. He is a friend of benji who we baptized last week and just has been really interested in the church. He asked us to set up a time with the bishop to make mission plans! pretty cool stuff. Well today is new years eve, we changed dinner to be able to eat as a zone in the night. Supposedly there is going to be a ton of fireworks hopefully the same as lima because that was so cool last year. Well i love you all and hope your doing well. Have a good week and ill talk to ya next year! love Elder "Baby" collins

Elder Crump

(Family and Friends,

Nick just recently got called as the Personal Secretary to his mission president.  His P-days will now be Thursdays.
Thanks to all of you for all your love and support.

Trish )

So family it was so great to talk to you guys!  Seriously made my whole Christmas!!  You guys all looked so good!  So first off to everyone...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW can you believe how fast this past year has gone by!  I remember that last year we were in the CCM! WOW how time realy does fly!

So being here in the office is very different.  I was sad to leave the jungle when I had finally got there, but i know that I'm needed where I am now.  It's a different mission, but with the same purpose! We don't have to much time to work in the field because we are in the office all day until like 6pm.  Its hard to make the change, but the work that we do will help other missionaries to have success.  But the good news is, is that it wont stop us from baptizing people!!  haha So family and friends, i just wanted to write a quick message, and send some pictures! I love you all so much! Take care, and Merry Christmas, and  a Happy New Year!!!!!!!

All my Love,
ELDER NICOLAS COLLINS CRUMP

Elder Collins

Hey family. Well we went to internet this morning and i was there for 45 min and couldnt load anything so thats why this email is late. I got permission to come back since i didnt write president either. Well here is a little about this week. We found like 2 new familys to teach so thats good. I have 7 baptism dates right now that we are working on getting them in the water. One family a mom and her two kids (Lejia Almendra and jefry) and also 4teens of 17, 18,21 and 23 years old who baptisms are before the end of this month. Me and my companion are great, its weird to think that he was already in the mission 4 years before. We get a long great but the truth is even though he´s turning 27 in jan. he is a little immature but in a little kid-old man way. I dont how to explain it well ill be able to tell you more tonight im going to do my pre call. What time should i call? Everything is great here except that all the elders are starting to get trunky because of Christmas haha. I love you all and am going to call in the night.

Family, Friends, Hows it going?  I hope amazing as usual!!   So  your week last week sounded crazy! Your had like a party every night!  Im glad Alex finally got married as well! haha  Im glad mom didn't freak out about the story about the knife, but look what came out of it!  So can you believe it almost Chritmas!  It still blows my mind!

SO to answer some of moms many, many  questions,  there still is no snow... haha obvious its like 100 degrees here, but Peru is getting into the christmas spirit! There is a big tree in the center of the jungle where there is Lights, and all that great stuff!  Plus there is a Peruvian nativity scene! haha its so funny there all Peruvians! There are llamas, Baby jesus is wearing Peruvian poncho, and a funny hat! haha classic!  plus remember the moto taxis here, well a few are decorated like santa's sleigh, and the guys are dressed up like santa! haha its awesome! I'll try to send pictures!  The stores now are all filled with toys, and candy! Its awesome! But it cracks me up because here people think its so cool to write in english, so there are many signs that say  Mery Crismas,  Meri Khristmas!  Hahah its the best!

Mom yes i got my packages!  Except for one... president didnt have room in his bag, so i still have one waiting for me in Lima.  How do i tell which one if for my comp?  Write back and let me know!
So I have a big suprise for you guys!  But you'll find out at 4 pm my time!  So be ready, and have your cell charged, because i get to do a pre call today to plan for Christmas!!!!  So be ready! Mom I'm gonna call you!  And yes i have some news to tell you... but you will have to wait!

So anyway holy cow all of the girls are leaving on missions!! That is so great, but so sad for my future...haha no its going to be awesome! Thats crazy about Shaunie, and Kasandra, who else! I need names! haha so family you should be getting my package the 21st or the 23rd.  But keep a look out.  I sent it on the 11th, and she told me 10 to 12 days!  I hope you get it before Christmas!!  Mom there is something for everyone! I hope you enjoy! Plus there is a little something extra for the girls, letters for everyone, and of course a little something extra for mom!!  haha

So this week has been so great!  Things are going great with our investigators!  Davis and Inith were going to do their wedding and Baptism in January, just because we just don't have too much time, as well as Washington!  But were going to baptize two of the 4 girls that were references!  They both came to church, and are excited, and the other 2 need to attend church more, so they will be for January as well!  Things are going great! Seriously, we had like 6 investigators come to chruch today, with a new family, as well as another family of 4 who has been coming to church for 3 weeks now, wants to take the lessons to be baptized! So seriously for January we will have like 10 baptisms with 3 families! Its gonna be awesome!

So this past week we had our Christmas party with president Blunck, and his wife! It was awesome!  First off he came to our District Meeting to see how we did it. And we rocked it! Everything went so good! We did tons of practices, and we had an awesome training!  President was so happy with our zone!  Plus he presented my comp and I with our Certificate of 8/4/2!  And the ex comp of Elder Collins was there with us, and he got his too, because him and reg got 8/4/2 as well!  Then after in the night, we had a Christmas devotional, where we played games, we all had santa hats, President Blunck bought us all gifts, and hma blunck made us home made cookies, and banana bread!  it was so awesome!  Then the next day, we had another training with Pres Blunck, then we all went to this way fancy resturant for lunch!  It was an awesome christmas celebration!!

Family Friends, I do love you guys so much! I am so grateful for your love and support!  I know mom you say you dont quite feel like your in that Christmas spirit yet, but i promise you when you place baby Jesus in his manger on Christmas eve, it will hit you!  That is what this time of year is all about.  Our Savior, Christ.  As we do the shopping, play in the snow, drink hot chocolate, and watch every christmas movie, we must always keep in our hearts why we celebrate this day.  I wish you all the Merriest Christmas!  I Cannot wait to talk, and hopefully see your faces this christmas!  You guys truly are so wonderful, and i love you all so much!

MY dearest family and Friends!!  Wow we are getting close to Christmas!!!  I cant believe its already the tenth!!  Time isnt even real anymore!  So drum roll please..... daddaddadadadaddaddadadaddadaddadadaddadadaddadadaddadadadd   DIOGO GOT BAPTIZED!!!  Haha finally!! haha boy its been a strugle with him, but all went good!  He was so happy to get baptized!  And his girlfriend even showed up, which made him happy!

Haha so seriouly this past month has been so great, for the past 4 weeks ever saturday we have had a baptism!  Its been so great!  I love the jungle!  haha but i am sad to say that for this next week we dont have a baptism, but for the end of this month we should have a few more!  We are preparing 2 more families, one needs to get married, they are the friends of Mariela and Jack.  But the problem is they can't attend church until january because he works in the mornings!  They are named Davis and Inith.  They want to be baptized. He asked for permission to change his work schedule, but they said he has to wait till the new year...  Also, they have a friend named Washington, we are preparing for this month.  Hopefully he will be able to come to church!  Then the other family is where the wife is a member, but her husband isn't.  They were about to separate, but we jumped right in, and he wants to change everything and become a member... but he is a police officer so its hard for him to attend church!  Oh yeah and last night we received an awesome reference from one of the ladies in our ward!  She has four ladies living in her house and they all came to church.  They want to learn more, and tomorrow we are going to invite them to be baptized for this month!  So if all goes well and people come to church, we can baptize like 5 or 6 people!! Please pray for them!

So Awesome news... I got a letter from the ward Tahuantinsuyo, and 4 of my investigators i had there and invited them to be baptized, followed through, and got baptized!  But the best of all was Hmo Martin!!!  The Husband of Hma Diana, my Peruvian Mom!  She was the lady who threw the birthday party for me, with the cake!  So anyway, here is the story of Martin.  He has known about the church for 15 years...  He has talked with many missionaries, but never wanted to change his life!  He always drank, fought with other men in the street, and was straight up just a mean guy!  He always just called me a gringo...  so his life with Hma Diana was pretty sad.  She didn't want anything to do with him, and neither did his kids.  She slept in a different room than him, and for months we asked why are you still together?  But she always said for her kids, and she knows that one day he can change.  So for months, seriously i didnt like that man! He was so rude to us, but still i was always so nice to him, and said hello.  But all of that changed one night.  So this happened about in august, sorry i didnt tell you about it but i thought you might worry... haha so anyway my comp and went to hma Dianas house to thank her for her help with Doyla, our baptism that we had.  So when we knocked on her door,  Martin answered.  I could tell he was a little drunk, so politley we asked if Hma Diana was there, and hr just said come in, and turned away into the kitchen.  We stood there, not wanting to go in.  Then from kitchen, he yelled come in again.  Then he came out of the kitchen with a Knife.  He said he is going to kill someone.  You can imagine at this point we were kind of freaking out, but for some reason i was like who? Who do you want to kill!  He said that stupid dog up the street, he bit me!  And then he lifted up his pant leg, and he was gushing out blood.  Seriously it was terrible, and he was going white.  So i went inside and said Martin, drop the Knife your not going to kill the dog.  Then he started to cry and said i need to!   Then i yelled at him and said, Martin dont make me come take the knife from you.  It was so powerful, but dont worry i was still at my distance from him. I then said Martin we need to take you to the hospital.  He started crying hard and dropped the knife, so then i ran over and kicked it away and grabbed him. Me and my comp carried him to my penisonista's house where we cleaned out his wound, and then her husband drove him to the hospital.  So that was the first part.  The second part was when we saw him the next day.  He looked terrible, but he thankedd me.  It was the first time he said my actual name, Elder Crump.  So then later that night at about 1 in the morning he knocked on our door crying.  I opened the window, and he told me that he just had a big fight with his wife. He said, im drunk , but i want to change... i need to change..  help me!  I want to listen to the lessons!  So as you can imagine, i was like what the!  So i told him ok lets meet tomorrow, and we'll talk.  So the next day, we met at a members house.  I talked very direct with him, and told him Martin we can help you, but only if you do what we say! You need to stop drinking right now.  You need to be nice to your wife, as well as your kids.  When we give you something to read, you need to read, you need to attend church, and pray to God.  I told him if he really wants to change, he need to do that.  God can forgive you, but first you need to forgive yourself.  And the next day we invited him to be baptized in november, near the end the 24th, because he had some problems with some stuff.  And as you know i got my change, but just this morning i received an email from him with pictures of his baptism! He did it! He changed, gave up drinking, read the book of mormon, and is now a member!!!  After so many years he finally changed, and now his family is so much better.  They are happy, and are all members.  God really had plan for him.  I know that we were meant to knock on his door that night,  which changed everything!  Wow, im just so happy that he did it!  So mom, sorry if that story kind of scared you but dont worry we were protected, and look what came out of it!

Family, i love you guys so much!  Being out here far away from you guys, truly has showm me how much i miss and love you guys.  You all mean so much to me, and i only want the best for you guys!  This month is going to be so wonderful!  Enjoy this CHRISTmas season! Remember what its all about.

Wow, that is so sad to hear about Danielle's dad.  I cant believe it, he was so young! How is the family doing!  Tell her im sorry, and give her a hug for me!

Im glad you guys are getting into the Christmas spirit, and wow talk about a lot of parties!! haha i love it!  Im still waiting on the packages, but this week ill get them!!  And keep a look out for mine! I hope it gets there before Christmas!!!
Well, this turned out to be a long letter! haha i love you guys so much! Stay safe, and know that i love you all!

Familia!
Well this week went by fast. Maybe its because we had pday tuesday? We have been working with a single dad for the last month. His only problem has been that he smoked. We have helped him and he hasnt smoked for 3 weeks so his baptism was supposed to be yesterday. So we go to pick him up for his baptism and hes drunk! He never drinks so we dont know what happened. I was a little upset but i have learned to get over these problems a lot faster now. Luckily we ended up having 10 investigators attend church. We went to pick up two guys who are 18 and 20 and they invited their friends to come too. That helped out a lot. Im still looking for familys though. My comp has a thing that if he sees a kid of the age of 15 to 20 he contacts them immediately. Its not a bad thing but im always trying to remind him that "you get what you look for" elder packer. I want familys so thats what im always looking for. Its a little funny too because he freaks them out the first lesson saying "and after you get baptized you can leave your family for two years and serve the lord!" haha you should see the look on their faces. WOW! the poblete family is awesome. the dad has a strict security job and a strict boss. Every two weeks he works day shifts and every two weeks night shifts so two weeks he cant attend church. But yesterday he told his boss that its important to attend church to be with his family and keep a commandment. Now he has permission to leave work every sunday to go to church. They are working towards the temple right now! He recieved the priesthood last week.Yes, im in the famous club now of  842! bout time. I worked hard to make it to that! Well not much more to say. I want to send you guys a package but i cant promise it will get there for christmas. Im sending a letter for sure though! I love you have a great week! love reg
P.S. Thank You Miller Family I just got your Halloween Package, not sure where its been?

Elder Collins

Hey Family! Well first of all i want to say sorry that this is a day late. We had a conference and christmas devotional with president yesterday so they changed p day to today without telling us! Well this week i got my new companion. His name is Elder TTito from Araquipa peru. Hes really nice and a good guy. Yes im training him. He actually was in the mission in 2008 for a little bit but went home because he got really sick. Its a little awkward that im his trainer because im only 20 and he´s turning 27 in january! haha. But i still call him my son. He has a lot of excitement to contact. He will contact while we are contacting someone else. The other day we were contacting someone and he saw a young teen and quickly turned around, stopped him and started talking to him alone! Yesterday was pretty great we had a training conference first then after we did stuff for Chirstmas. We all went to a restaurant with pres then played jepordy and watched the christmas mission video. It was a good time, a little wierd because its only december 3 but hey its still great. I got some packages yesterday and everyone was laughing at me because i had so many packages Haha well no one has ever seen scented pinecones before, everyone thought it was food! I wont lie i gave the nativity set to Hno sesisnio because i am in his house more than mine and he was super grateful and said thanks! haha. Im not really sure what stuff is for who? there is like 4 stockings?! But hey thanks! well much loves for all love reg!

Family!!!  How is it going?  I hope all is just so great!!!  So mom, you will be glad to know that i got 2 of my packages.  The offices have the other 6!  Rude huh!  They are going to be bringing them to us, because this month we dont have the zone leader conference because of Christmas.  So president is coming to tarapoto to have a christmas bash with us! haha  But he sent me a letter about the packages... ill forward it to you guys!  I guess when we send a bunch of packages, the Peru government opens them up and checks them, and then makes the church pay for them.  Its kind of dumb, but in the letter it explains more! But still im excited to get my packages, i hope ill get them soon!

So we had another baptism this week!  For Alex!!!  It was awesome! His very active catholic parents came, and they loved the baptism.  His dad is in the police, and is very serious.  He always just puts his hand out to shake, never a hug, even to his own family.  But during the baptism, he was getting a little teary eyed, and after he gave his son a big hug!!!  Seriously, the spirit can change your heart!  They are still very catholic, but little by little they want to learn more!  We didnt baptize Diogo.... his mom had a little freak out, but he talked with her and she finally agreed he could.  So, its for this next saturday!  Im sorry I have so many pictures i need to send you, but my memory has a virus.  Every time i try to load and send a picture my computer turns off!! Its so frustrating!! So when i Can I will send pictures of the wedding, and of all the baptisms!!!

Wow, really this past month has flown by!  We have been so busy.  I realized yesterday that we are in december!  Seriously, what an amazing month! We finished as a zone with 14 baptisms!!  Its great, but we had the goal of 17!  We were sad, because this month we had the chance to go above the goal!  But, we had like 8 baptisms fall through!  It's ok, hopefully for december we will be able to make up those baptisms!  So this month was really cool for my companion and me, because we completed with the goal of the mission.  The goal of excellence! 8/4/2  Its when you have 8 people progressing, (4 families, and 4 other people), you baptize 4 people, and baptize 2 families.  It was awesome, because here in Tarapoto no one has ever done it!  In Iquitos, and Pucallpa its a lot more common, because the people are a lot more accepting and awesome, but here its kind of like the Lima of the Jungle.  But it didnt stop us, we wanted to get it, and set the example for the zone and we did it!  We baptized 3 families!!!  it was such a powerful and amazing experience!!

As a zone, we want to end this year with a bang, and if all goes well, and the dates dont fall through, we are going to have about 28 baptisms for december!!!  Tarapoto has never had more than 17 in one month!!  But were gonna do it! As long as we get past 20 we will be happy, but were still going for 28!

So keep a look out because in these next couple of weeks you will be getting a package from me!!  And tell trev and kenz sorry i need to know that day!  haha I hope they`ll still like it!

Family how crazy is it that we are in the month of the christmas season!  I love it!   Its wierd being away, but what I am doing is what christmas is all about!  Of course i miss the Lights, the snow, the time with the family, but everyday that i get to put on my name tag and walk out the door as a representative of Jesus Christ, Its like christmas!  Family, take the time this year to remember what this season is about!  All of you have your own little families, and how great is that!  Cherish those moments together, and create family traditions that will last a life time!  I love you guys so much!  I miss you like crazy, and i cant wait to talk to you guys this christmas!!  Congrats Bren on your JOB!!!!!!!!!!!  Corinne and your school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thats so great!!!!!!!  Im so proud of all of you and what you guys are doing!!!

Keep us in your prayers! Pray that we will be able to meet our goals, not only to have better numbers, but to help us improve as missionaries, but most importantly help us to bring MANY people unto our Savior, Jesus Christ!!

All my Love,
ELDER NICOLAS COLLINS CRUMP

"No its not wheres the snow?" Well i wont lie. We had 2 weddings and 4 baptisms this week! Finally! my work from the whole month came through! it was a happy feeling. The weddings were awesome the Poblete family´s wedding and baptism was a little more special for me. This family is way cool. The dad is really excited about everything and grateful too. The day of their wedding his family threw him a party and i was worried he wouldnt be tempted to drink and to smoke. We went to check on him to make sure everything was ok and while his whole family were there drinking and smoking he and his wife were just off to the side. When we got there he got so happy and was like collins collins i havent drank anything or smoked like you told me! I was so happy, he has a lot of desire to learn more and become better. The other day when we visited his house we caught him reading the book of Mormon. When i was confirming the Holy Ghost with him i felt the spirit really strong. i was a happy camper. Well hope you all had a great thanksgiving, it was just a normal day for me. I really forgot it was thanksgiving after we ate breakfast because their wasnt any cinamon rolls. I feel stressed today because its transfers that and the the fact that im already working like crazy to find more familys again. We still dont know the changes and i wont know anything until 11. Well i love you all and hope all is well. Love reg

Elder Crump

Wow.  That is really about all I can say for this week...wow.  It was AMAZING!!!!  Seriously it truly was so awesome!!  We married a family!!!!  It was a LOT of work, but everything all worked out!!!  So everything was going all good, we had hired the mayor of Moyobamba to come to Tarpoto to do the wedding.  Because if we do it all in the city hall, its a lot more paper work, and we have to wait like a month.  So lucky us we have a member who is the mayor, but he lives in a city about 3 hours away... so we had to pay him to come.  So everything was going great, so we got to the chapel early to get everything all set up, and then 10 am came around, and the mayor, the members, and the family wasnt even there!!! It got to be about 1030 and we were getting nervous!  It was only my comp and me our pensionista, our ward mission leader, and the elders quorm president!  So i took a moto taxi to their house, and they were still getting ready!! I was like come on we can finish in the church!!  They didnt even have clothes for their wedding!  A lady lent her dress for the bride, and the groom is wearing my shirt, and my tie!! haha  But anyway, we all got to the church, and members started to show up, but still no MAYOR!!!!  I was nervous because he was about 2 hours late!!!  And he didn't want to answer his phone!! Boy it was stressful, because at about 1;30 we needed to leave the church becuase there was a big activity for the relief society!!!  So finally at about 12 30 the mayor showed up!  Haha, I had to hold my comp back, he wanted to say some words but i covered his mouth! haha but it was all good the wedding turned out great!!!  They were so happy!!!  And their kids too!!!  So  then later that night we Baptized them!! I baptized mariela, and my comp baptized jorge, the single dad!  So in this night we baptized 2 families!!!  And this friday were going to baptize diogo, and another kid named alex!  So if everything goes all good, this month we will baptize 5 people with 3 families!!!!!!!!  Im so excited!!!

So as you might of guessed, im tired... haha seriously this week was one of the most stressful, but amazing weeks!  We are happy, but a little sad, because in our zone this week 7 baptisms fell through.... the elders are great, but they just need to verify with their investigators better.  It was sad, but it taught them a good lesson, that they need to work work work, and always verify with them!!

Family, thanksgiving was so great! We went to this 5 star hotel in the middle of the jungle, Named the Rio Shilcayo, Hotel.  It was awesome!! He was there with one of his sons and their grandkids!  It was an anwesome thanksgiving!  Family,  Im so grateful for you all.  You are the greatest family ever, and I love you all so so much!  Being away is hard, but im not going to lie, baptizing families, and helping them enter into the kingdom of God makes it all worth it! I cant say it enough, but I LOVE BEING HERE!!  Its a whole other world, but i love it!

Sorry I still dont know much about christmas, and still no packages!!!  But ill keep a look out!!
I love you all so so much!! Thank you so so much for all you do!
Have a good week,  And i ll try to send pictures!!!

Well hey there family. So this week was just a normal week. Still just doing stuff to find teach, marry and baptize some people. We had conference with president this week. Our whole zone had matching ties, it was super cute! haha. We learned a lot about how to find new investigators through less active people and new converts. President talked about the new announcement about the age of missionarys. It was way good!! He talked about how every nation in every language is supposed to hear the gospel in order for Christ to come. He explained that this couldnt be fufilled before because of the lack of missionarys and missionary tools. He said he believed that when president monson announced the new age it will be known as the "announcement" when the prophet is saying the Lord is preparing his kingdom more than ever to come! It was awesome and i havent felt the spirit that strong in a long time! Well nothing else is new its the last week before the changes. Pray for me this week that everything works out for transfers! i love you all. Happy Thanksgiving im grateful for all of you! love reg

Elder Crump

Well Family and Friends how is everyone doing?  I hope all is going great!  So first off.....HOLY COW SO MANY GIRLS ARE GOING TO BE MISSIONARIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wow that blows my mind how many of my friends are going out!! How great is that! Look at how much the missionary work has progressed!!  We have been told that this next year in January to March we will get like 70 Sister missionaries!!!!!!!!!!!!  So every zone will have like 6 to 8 sisters, and our zone will problably have more because in the past Tarapoto at one point had 12 sisters!!!  Oh boy im nervous to be a zone leader to 19 year old sister missionaries! haha no it will be good!

So to answer your question about thanksgiving, mom, dad you know how much i love to eat, so you know that i have been praying for a miracle, because its true here in Peru there is no thanksgiving...but my prayers have been answered, we just recieved a email from president Blunck that he is coming here to Tarapoto Thanksgiving day to invite our zone to dinner!!! WERE GOING TO HAVE THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wow im so excited!!!  Of all the zones he picked ours!!!!!!!

So everything is going great with our investigators.  We baptized Maria, that single mom!!!  It was awesome!! She has come such a long way!!  She has been in contact with the missionaries for 4 YEARS!!!! Yeah talk about an eternal investigator!!!  But the difference was 4 years ago they invited her to be baptized, but she was always working and could never come to church... so the missionaries just kind of gave up on her and just keep kind of visiting her.  So when i got here, we went to here house, told her that if she changed her work, and was able to come to church she would see the blessings Heavenly Father has for her, and then we invited her to be baptized!!  And she did it! She asked to change her work hours, she attended church, and a month later she got baptized!!!  It was so awesome!!  All she needed was to be pushed just a little, but with a promise from God, all will be well.  And with her faith that she had, she got that promise, and she has never been so happy!!  Her daughter Alexa, we need to wait for more time, her dad who lives in another city wont give her permission!!!

So We are preparing Diogo, Jorge, and are you ready......ANOTHER FAMILY!!!  But not only for their baptism, but we are getting them married!!!  This weekend!! Were going to have their wedding in the morning, and then at night were going to baptize The wife, Mariella.  Her Boyfriend is a Member!!  Were so excited!!! Were going to be baptizing 3 families this month!!!  Im so happy!!  but this past week has been even crazier than the last one!  So to marry people here in Peru, is like a big stress case!  First off we have to get their ID from the couple, then we have to send copies to the city where they were born, to get their birth certificate!  But oh wait were in the Jungle, and everyone is from little villages in Iquitos!!  So we have to send members to go find their little island in a boat, and they have to get all their paper work for us!  Then we have to do all their paper work like 2 weeks in advance, and they have to fill out medical forms, proof that they are single, and all that jazz.  So we have been calling all over Peru looking for the paper work, but not only for our couple, but 3 others as well!!  Its been a nutcase!! but i love it! If all goes well we will be baptizing families, and later they can be sealed in the temple for all time and eternity!!!  Wow, the mission is nothing like I thought!!  It so much better!!

Dad good luck in your surgery! I hope, and pray all goes well and you will recover fast!!!  I love you!!!!!

So what more is going on here.....oh i got proposed to last night by this super crazy lady..... she wouldn't let go of my hand!!  It was intense, but I was looking around where is my pensionista with a bucket of water when I need her!! haha

So that is so awesome about Korban!!! Im so excited for him!!  Did he get my letter, because im still waiting on him.  And did you send out all the letters i sent?

I love you guys so much i hope all is well with you guys, and I can't wait to hear back from you all!!

Family
Wow i want some snow!! my face got fried this week, really the sun is so strong right now. I think that means its preparing for big rain storms. Well a little bit about this week. The single mom that we baptized kind of went crazy this week. We went to her house to pick her up for church and she said, i knew this would happen, im not always going to church! other things in my life are more important than God! then she went to her room and blasted her music so she couldnt hear us. I just left her a note saying you know what happens when we keep the commandments and when we don't. The way your acting by going into your room to ignore us isnt appropriate and we hope to see you in the church. Haha kind of ridiculous. I was just doing paper work for two weddings that we are going to have on the 23! Im pretty excited about that. Everyone is putting up their christmas trees and lights and it makes us a little trunky. There is a family the poblete family that we have been teaching them a lot this week. They are awesome! they came to church the past two weeks for the full 3 hours. Yesterday they asked how they can improve as investigators. haha never had anyone ask me that before. Well not much else to say. hope all is well and that your shoveling the side walks. Loves for everyone. Love reg

Well just another day in paradise....haha im sorry but i had to say it! Its so beautiful here!  And mom when i say hot, lets just say im going to be coming home looking like sam!  But it will be super funny because i have a wicked farmers tan!! haha  So This past week was the craziest week of my life!  So First off we had p day on monday, and we went into the jungle and went to the waterfalls!  Its was so awesome!!  But like i said I have like 12 kids here, and it was a little stressful, making sure no one fell into the water!  Seriously it was so funny!  So after that awesome p day, at like 5 we had to hurry and go change, and go pick up the assistants from airport.  Then that night they went on splits with us....ya its ok i surived!  Ps, do you know we have two latin assistants?  The first time! Always we have one white, and one latin!  Anyway, it all went good.  So then tuesday, we had a training for our zone from president blunck and his wife!  We had two other zones come in to tarapoto from Moyobamba, where Elder Fenn  (from my group) is at.  So that morning we had to get up super early, plan everything and get everything ready!  So then we had the training, and it went great!  Then at about 4 it ended, and right away Elder Ferreyra and I left with President, and the assistants, and we all headed straight for the airport!  The plain ride wasn't too long only about an hour, but i got put next to this "snake".  Oh boy, its was bad.  She kept asking questions about the church, i was so nervous because i had president and his wife sitting right in front of me!  Haha, but despite the fact she started crying and hyperventalating when we had a little turbulance, it all turned out to be ok!  Lets just say im gonna beat up elder wilson, the personal secretary who bought my ticket! Haha, but any way we got to lima, and right away we had to get some work done with the assistants!  i dont know why they always want to go on splits with us, but its all good! So we finished, and we stayed with the office elders in their house....oh boy memories from my hurt knee days...haha so then wednesday we woke up early and went and had breakfast with Hma consuelo! She cried! She was so happy to see us!  haha then we went to the zone leader conference!  Wow it was awesome!  Its so so crazy!!  It was a long day, but it turned out to be all good!  Then after in the night we headed back to the airport, and got back about 9:30 at night in tarapoto!   Wow that was a lot!

So since we didnt have to much time to work in our area for like 4 days, we went into full work load!  We taught and contacted like crazy!!!  it was great!! We are still working with our families!  Jorge the single dad, has been having some problems with his ex, and DIogo, is having problems with his family. They say that if he gets baptized he will be disowned from them!  He is about 21 years and doesnt need permission, but still he wants his families support! Please pray for them!!  Jorge, Diogo, and Mary and Alexa!  They are all so great, but we need all the help we can get with them and their problems!  I have faith that Heavenly Father will bless them, and we will be able to baptize them this month all 4 of them!

So to answer some questions...Mom i like the Dri Lux tops, with the Poly cotton bottoms, send like 12 of each!  Do like the same size dad has, because yes im getting bigger!  We joined a Gym!  Haha i know right me in a gym, but we actually go like 4 times a week, and we have a personal trainer.  Haha so by the time i get home, i will be able to beat trevor and dad at the same time! haha  And with the other arm brady and brendon.  Haha just kidding! but really!  Wow 8 packages!! Im excited!!  I cant wait to get them!!!  So funny story i forgot to tell you, guess who is in my zone...Elder Blas, remember him... he trained me!!! haha its pretty funny to be his zone leader!!  But he is awesome, and finishes in january!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRADFORD!!  Im sorry I'm a little bit late, but i hope it was awesome!! You are such a stud, and im so grateful my sister found a husband like you! Brother i love you, and i hope you have the best day!

Wow this was a long letter, mom enjoy! Haha, well i love you all and right now i miss Utah because of the snow, but i wouldnt want to be anywhere else but here!!!

Elder Crump

Well, well, well this past week has been so awesome!!  As crazy as we are, I still find time to love what were doing! haha but seriously things are going great!  So im getting the hang of having to do the paperwork, so today I have a little bit more time!!  So here in the zone tarapoto things are going great!  We already have 3 baptisms for the zone for this month! Our goal is 17 with 5 families!  Think we can do it? You bet your bottom dollar we can!  Im excited!!

So i am going to answer some questions to calm mom down! haha so first off we have 14 elders in our zone so yes im a father again... we live above a family of members!  Our pensionista!  Her name is Luzmila and she has 4 kids and they are so funny but little twerps!! haha but they have this little boy named andre...mom lets just say when you see his pic your gonna want to take him home! hahah  So we live in this one room apartment, but its actually nice!  We only have cold cold cold water which i actually like!  The animals i here, i dont actually quite know what they are, but today for p day were going exploring in the jungle, and were going to go hit up some of the sweet waterfalls they have here!  But all the time i see dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, chickens, monkeys, SPIDERS, bugs, lions and tigers and bears,  girl snakes, and all that jazz!  Im hoping today i will see more!  So the mission runs the district so its like President Blunck is the president of tarapoto and we are like his counselers.  They have a branch president but every thing has to go through us then the president of the mission.  My goal is by the time i leave here is to have them become a stake! Its gonna be rough, but right now it just depends if the members will start to take action!  SO like i said we are working like no other! We are mainly focused on our zone, which means we dont have too much time to work in our area, but that still doesnt stop us, right now we have two families that are preparing for the 17 of nov.  One is a madre soltera...i dont remember how to say that in english...a mom who is a alone and doesnt have a husband...  haha oh boy thats bad  and a padre soltero  a dad who doesnt have a wife!  Both have two kids!  Also we have this young guy named Diogo as well for the 17! Im excited for them!!  Its going to be an awesome month!

So i think i answered about all of them... oh yeah we drive in these moto taxis  is a motercycle with a carraige like thing on the back! haha  its actually a smart idea, I think im gonna bring it to utah! hahah  hmmm what else...oh yeah i did get the tape and it was amazing!!!! Thank you so so much!!!  Im so happy!  So about the packages... every month we go to Lima and we have a conference with president and then we get the mail.. so if you want to send some thing for december send it this month, because we go the first of december to pick it up!  So family like i said things are going great!  The jungle is a whole other world!  Seriously so beautiful!  I have only been asked by 5 girls here to have me take them back home and marry them, and 3 of them were under the age of 9, haha no just kidding, but really the people are so different, but so amazing!  I truly have such a love for these people.  They are my brothers and sisters, and i am so lucky to know them.  They teach us such an amazing lesson to know that it doesnt matter how much you make, but how much faith you have in God.

Family, I want you all to remember that hey this life isnt easy, sometimes were on top, but as we know we can fall down.  Don't look at challenges as a burden, or dont fill your mind with thoughts of why me? But look at it as a way to strenthen your faith in God.  He is always with us no matter what.  Times may be hard, but when one door closes, Heavenly Father opens a window, the windows of heaven, and he will pour us out a blessing, that there wont be room enough to recieve it!  Family i love you will all my heart! Your always in my prayers, and thoughts! I thank you for your love, and support!

Buenas días America! Well this week was a lot of contacting nothing like a fun filled week of contacting. We found a family this week and they are awesome! We started their papers to be married today so thats always a good thing. It was kind of funny because we had been contacting for like an hour and a half so i was just frusterated not really in a good mood to teach someone. This family lets us in and i just said "look we are here to help you as a family by baptizing you" Well that worked because they were like "ok, great, weve never been baptized before also we want to get married"!! Also this week we had a baptism of a single mom. We have been teaching her for about a month now and she finally had gotten the answer to her prayers that she had been waiting for. Haha myles is playing soccer! nice. I wont lie i kind of felt sad this week thinking that myles will be going soon after i come home. but i guess he´s gotta go somethime  Hey Mom - Dad said your already stressing about what to send me for Christmas christmas! tranquilo no mas! everyone is starting to put up christmas stuff, its making me trunky. haha nah but really. Elder Crump

Wow this week was so so crazy!  Being a zone leader is like a whole different thing!!  We are constantly doing paperwork, driving around to all the areas visiting the elders, and their investigators as well as familes!!  Here in Tarapoto everyone is a branch there isn't wards or stakes just 4 branches. The branches are ran by the mission.    Which means... us!  So crazy!  Also, we have another zone called Yurimaguas that is about 3 hours away that are now apart of our zone!  So we have to go visit them as well!  Seriously its so insane, but i love it!

This week we had our district conference with President Blunck and his wife!  It was awesome!!  We had the assistants stay with us for the weekend because we had interviews with the president and his wife!!  Plus we had a massive baptism the same day!!  Talk about a lot off weight getting thrown on my shoulders!! haha  It seriously was so so crazy!  We ended up baptising like 9 people!! Our investigator couldn't get baptized but this next week on the 10th he will be, along with 2 other familes that we found and a couple of teens.  November will be our month of success!! Im stoked!!

The jungle is so so different i love it!! Even my accent is changing to the charapa.  I say things like Eldercito, y hermanita, ya pues hermanita haha its very different, but I love it!  The people here are so humble, and so amazing! So welcoming!  Haha I am afraid of he jungle girls, its getting to be very hot here and the hotter it gets the crazier the teenage girls get!  Plus less clothing...oh boy definatly not in utah anymore!! haha but dont worry our pensionista kicks them away!  Whenever they want to come talk to us or try and flirt she throws water on them! and yells at them!! haha  i love that woman!!

So I cannot belive that I have been out for one year.... seriously time isn't even real anymore!  Plus guess what when the assistants were here they had 3 packages for me!! So on my one year mark i got the camel!!  haha plus all the ties from Trev, all the candy, the pictures!! Thank you so much! The elders all about died when they saw the pictures of Corinne and Brady!! haha plus one even said Brady was good looking....ya im a little worried about that elder... haha just kidding but seriously... haha so things are so crazy we have so much to do all the time!! But i seriously love it!! I loved the pictures of Hud bud y Norah  you guys got some cute kids!!!
I'll be sending some more pictures later!!

I love you so so much!! thank you for all you do!!!

Well hey,
Im a tired boy...We have been working with this family (the chavez family) for awhile to get them married and baptized. We finally get all their papers done and documents and paid for all of it and the night before we go to their house and they tell us that they made up their mind and that they are going to wait to get married because they wanted to buy nicer clothes for their wedding and have a reception and what not! Haha ya i dont think so! We married and baptized them both! Elder Mar one of the other missionaries came with me to teach them in the night to help them realize why they are getting married. The dad was tearing up at the end because he realized after waiting years to be baptized but never could because of problems with his papers and marriage that the lord finally provided him a way to get it done. His wife was being stubborn all the way until she entered the font saying she didnt want to be baptized. After she said thanks for calling my bluff and helping get baptized. We also baptized the girlfriend of a kid who is getting ready to leave for his mission in the next month. Well i officially have more than one year! So funny stuff the day of the wedding i started feeling sick and by the night i was feeling pretty bad so we went to the clinic at like 10 at night. The doctor just said i had a fever gave me a shot in my butt to break the fever some pills and sent me home. The next day i was worse but i still baptized the family. (thats why i look like bad in the pictures.) So we went back to the clinic with another doctor. This one was better turns out i had strep. So he gave me another shot in my butt for the fever and the right meds. Im all good now! (mom please do not call the mission or anything like that im fine!) Thats pretty much how i spent my one year mark!! Hno Sesinio (the husband of my pension) gave me a blessing, and was watching out for me. He started crying in during the blessing because im like a son to him. It was cool. Well thats about it....loves reg

My family
Wow crazy stuff crazy stuff..I have one year! Its gone by pretty fast I cant believe it. Well it was transfers this last week, im still in the same area, I heard from 3 different people that I was changing but I guess that was a lie. Didnt really think that I would though. Well this week has just been all running errands and making calls to get birth certificates to marry this family we have. I have never had such a big problem marrying someone before. Ya nick got transfered to Tarapoto in the jungle. I hear its small but the most beautiful of the jungle areas. We have a new gringo in our zone. Makes me laugh to realize how bad your spanish is when you first start out, also because mine was way worse. This week I realized im not having as many spiritual expiriences as when I first started my mission. I need to be humble! Thats why I love love LOVE Ether 12.27 I always tell people here that my dad tells me to humble myself because if I dont the Lord will help me. Funny thing that you wrote me about prayers Dad because I was thinking this week that I need to pray in the morning more like I used to. Get on my knees and just ask what should I do today! Im going to do that again now! Well im grateful for all of you and all that you have done for me this last year! Ive learned so much and my testimony has tripled! Thank you for your prayers, letters, packages, advice everything! Im so proud to have the parents and family that I do! Cant believe I have a year.  Love you all have a great week! love reg

Family!!!
I am so so happy!! It has been such a crazy week!!! So Like I said, Im finally In the jungle!!  Seriously Tarapoto is so beautiful!  Im so excited in a couple of P days were gonna go to the waterfalls!!  Outside my window is the jungle!  I hear animals all night!  I love it!  It normally doesn't rain here, but this month is when the rain comes!  It's so nice, because let me tell you it is blazing hot!!!  And when the clouds come in, and its starts to pour its like and answer to our prayers, and i start doing the rain dance! haha seriously I love it here!!  I was in Lima WAY TOO LONG!!
So my comp is from argentina and he was actually in tahuantinsuyo in the same area like 4 months before me!! He is so awesome! He has been out for about 15 months!  He doesn't really have his accent, but its still there!  So it was hard to leave tahua and my pensionista cried along with my peruvian mom, and grandma!!  It was rough, but every month we go back to lima for a zone leader conference, so i can see them then!!
So im super sorry i don't have too much time to write.  We have to write all these informes, so it like takes up my time!!  But all is good!!  Yes there are spiders, bugs, snakes....ugh...but i have only seen the girl kind...oh boy  im nervous!!  Anyway seriously, i love it here!! Its insane!! My pensionista is named luzmila, haha she is so funny but sassy, haha.  Sorry i really got to go, but i promise next week i will write more!  Oh yeah ps, this week we got three investigators preparing for their baptism!  I love the jungle!!!

Wow baby sounds like your all turning into hipees or something! Haha You all look diferent which is crazy. Thats cool that Myles is starting mission prep classes and kind of weird too. Had a good week this past week. Went by super fast. I worked really hard getting papers together for marriages. We had a baptisms of a little teen girl who is our next door neighbor. Just decided to talk to them last week and well we baptized their daughter and the parents are getting married on the 26 and baptized the same day. Well today is transfers! Hope Pres. will finally send nick to me again. He´s got to leave that smoggy lima air! Well i just got told that im staying here its not official yet, I Just walked into the computer room and another elder said he saw the changes and told me. I guess E. sanchez is going to lima for his last change...that kinda of sucks. The guy whos moto i helped is awesome! I love this family. I told them if im going to be here for thanksgiving that i would buy a turkey, they are excited about that. Ah man! is Dakota ok? Do they know whats wrong with him. I couldnt imagine having migraines all day. Hope he gets better. So facts about Iquitos the city of Iquitos is busy. There are a ton of motorcars and motorcycles. The shops and stands are all really close together. But there isnt as many stands with tourist stuff like there is in mexico. I think that it is a little hard to teach people here about God. Everyone prays to him like he is a monster or a robot. It´s a good feeling when you here someone pray to him like a father. There is too much crying and shouting and hallelujahs from the evangelist.
Well dont know what else to say, So we are going to go look at the transfers and stuff right now so ya ill let you know everything next week!
Hope all is well much love♥♥♥ Reg
