Alright Family!

Well this week it was all about San Juan. Its a holiday in the jungle here, i dont know what its about maybe just another day to get wasted! So my area is like the main part of the river so EVERYsingle person in pucallpa was in my area sat and sunday. It was crazy couldnt even walk down the streets. It was definitly hard to have lessons the last two days because nobody is home they all go to the river or to familys houses or are drunk. They have this food thing thats pretty much a huge squished up ball of rice with a piece of chicken in the middle that they wrap in a big leave and BBQ it. ya... i ate it for breakfast lunch and dinner sat, and lunch and dinner sunday. Oh man i dont understand why its so popular of a food here. Especially to eat during san juan. Well we found a new family thats super Evangelico! (Evangelist?) Ya but the husband cheated on his wife but she just wants him to repent and wanted us to cast the evil cheating spirit out of him. I just said "well we dont do that but how about Baptism" It was hard not to laugh during there prayers, they slowly start yelling and saying Hallelujah! The husband wants to feel clean again so its super easy to teach him but his wife is a little off the deep end and likes to always talk about how her husband is a sinner and a evil man but she still loves him. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!

Dad I Hope you had the best fathers day!!  You seriously are the greatest dad in the whole world.  I am so lucky to have you!!  All my life you have always put your family first no matter what.  You are incredible in every single way possible.  Dad you are such an amazing example to me, as well as all of your children, your wife, and anyone you come in contact with!! You truly are so amazing i love you so much! Im sorry i couldnt be there, but it sounds like you had a pretty good time!!  Thank you for all you do!!  You are one of the biggest reasons why i am here!!  Through your teachings, examples, and love, i have been able to gain a testimony of my own, and i am so lucky to be where i am today!!  All of my acomplishments, awards, or anything i have gained is all because you and mom!!  Thank you you everything!! I love you!!

So this week has been crazy/awesome!!  Haha so being district leader is a little bit stressful!! haha i feel like i have 3 kids!!  There is only me, fonseca, Elder Hernandez, and his new comp, Elder Nurmenda.  Oh yeah and also im the district leader for the Assistants!! haha But really its all going good!! I have to do my first training tomorrow, and im a little nervous, but i know Heavenly Father will help me!!  So this week went good, we gained 10 new investigators, and invited 2 of the new ones to be baptized!  They have dates, but we need them to come to church to get there date official, so its just a goal for now!!  Also some bad news about Leo... He cant get baptized on the 23 because he came to church right when the sacrament ended!! And they need to come before, and participate in the sacrament!!!  Ahh but its ok because he said that he need a little bit more time, so his new date is on the 14 of July!! Pray for him!! Help him know he is ready!! I think he just is scared!!  but he really is so ready and want to be baptized!!  Also Daniel had some problems with his family.  because he is underage, he needs permission from his mom, but all of a sudden his mom said she won't sign the form, so we are waiting for him to turn 18, which is july 23, and he will be baptized on 28 of July!  Dads birthday!!!  Also we have a kid named james that has a date set for the 14 of july as well!!  His whole family are members but way inactive!! They live in the highest part of the mountain!! haha 

So update Dayanna our convert is doing awesome!!  Not only did she give a talk on sunday, and did awesome, but her family started to notice a difference in her, and now they want to know more about the gospel!!!!  She brought her mom and her brother to the fathers day activity we had!! it was so awesome!!

SO super funny story!! We walk in to church and there is this guy sitting in there crying.  So we sit with him, and start talking to him, and he said that he has made so many mistakes in his life, and wants to change.  He cried all the way through the sacrament, then we walked out and talked and then, came back in to finish the meeting.  During the talks he lays down on the bench and falls asleep.  He was a little drunk by the way. So i felt bad to i let him sleep, but then after the meeting ended, he didnt wake up!! he was passed out!!  So one of the members shook him, and woke him up after like 10 minutes of trying!!  He could wake so we helped him to the bathroom, he threw up, then he splashed water on his face.  Haha so then were like ok lets get you home.  So we asked him if he had money, and he gave me his wallet, he only had like 7 soles, and a peso! And he lives like and hour away!! Haha so we didnt feel good about putting him in a combi, so i paid for a taxi and had it take him home!!  It was so sad, to see him like that, but hopefully he made it safely!!

Hey i love you guys so much!! i hope your all having the best week ever!!  Thank you for everything!! and Yes mom i think i got the package!! I just have to wait until after internet to get it!!

Hey Family,

So it was transfers this week and well im still in pucallpa. This week was a fast week. We have a couple of new guys in our zone and one in my district. Elder Zuniga, he is pretty cool. I went contacting with him for a couple of hours on sat. and he knows some basic English so its so fun when we are talking to someone a little wierd to talk about them in English. We were in one lesson and this lady just went off about how she has seen jesus and the devil in the same night so he said " Oh my gosh, please shut up women" haha i just started busting out laughing and i felt so bad because she had no idea why i was laughing. Well this week the bishop called me and told me that some little girl in the ward wants me to bapitze her. That was cool because I had never seen or heard of her or her family before? We have a new family that we are teaching. They are really cool and pretty poor. They came to church this last sunday so that was great. They have a baptismal date for the 7th. Well i sort of got mad at my comp yesterday. We were at a members house and the dad said that he wanted to play a board game with his kids but the mom said it was bad and you cant on sundays. I was like, i dont think its bad this is the time you have with your family all together I told them that sometimes me and my brothers will play catch or something outside on Sundays. My comp said that it was bad.  I told him thats just your opinion,  this family is doing something together and thats what is important and then he said  No its wrong and your shouldnt do that. So i told him that his opinions are not doctrine and that he needed to let it go! I hate that! Well other than that its all good here. I bought a machete so ill probably kill some wild beast this next week! love you have great week! reg

Alright, Im healed.. Its always a great week when your not sick! Well this week was pretty good. We found a new family and the parents are actually married! The mom had all those perfect questions like "why is there so many churches?" and why dont churches teach more about familys?" We also found another family without a dad and none of them have been baptized or gone to church because they said there is so many that none seemed to be right! nice right? I give credit to your guys fast for me. So thank you! Well we baptized a little girl. It was cool and all but i didnt feel satisfied at all. Its gotta be a family or someone who is going to receive the priesthood or it just wont cut it for me. Well today is transfers, im not planning on going anywhere but hey i guess we will see. Schools out right? I had my own little pepperwood party wed night. It was kind of weird only having another mexican dude in the room with me and my only dance music was Motab but hey i made it work. Hey Family,

How is everyone doing? I hope great!!  So tomorrow is cambios...and...i dont have a cambio!  Im a little sad, because i really want to go to the jungle, but happy because our area is doing great, and we have some awesome investigators!!  Also so here is the new news...Im the New District Leader!  So that makes me the senior companion with fonseca.  Crazy huh!  Im kind of nervous!! But excited it will be a great learning expirence!  But pray for me!! haha

So this week has been great, we still are working in three areas, because Elder Hernandez That is in another area doesnt have a companion, because his comp got his visa and went to Mexico!  But tomorrow he will get a new comp, and Fonseca and i will have just two areas, which im excited for!!

SO we are having some great success with our investigators!!  We have a guy who is 38 and his name is Leo, and he has a date set for 23 of june!!  Im way excited about him!!  He was invited to church by one of the recent converts in the ward Tahuantinsuyo, so he came to church and right there he knew he need to change his life.  He is so great, and its way funny because he is now realizing that a ton of his neighbors are members and he never knew!  He is way excited and cant wait for his baptism!!

We also have some others that are doing good, as well we just need them to come to church and then we can set a date!!  But the coolest thing of all is Daniel.  He is doing so good, in preparing for his baptism!  He has come so far.  I truly have seen the the power of repentence through him.  What a blessing it is!  I am so proud of him.  He always comes to church, he now wears a shirt and tie.  He voulenteers to help out with ward activties, and he probably knows more in the Book of Mormon than i do!! haha he is doing so good, he will make a stud of a missionary some day!!

Speaking of missionaries!!  Thats so crazy about weston!!  That will be so cool for him!!  I cant believe its already been more that a year since i got my call!! And graduated!!  That freaks me out!! haha  Tell him congrats and peru will miss him, but alaska is lucky to have him!!  Also will you tell aaron happy birthday for me!!  For some reason i always am gone on his birthday!  It was on june 7th!!  haha

That trip sounded fun!! Haha im glad dad won in 5 crowns, now that im gone anyone can win!! haha just kidding, but seriously!  haha who keeps score now? haha  So how are things going with my siblings? Its been a few weeks!  Hows the baby coming in shay?  Everyones work? Relationships?  haha keep me updated!!

Thank you for sending the packages!! Ill keep my eye out!!  The office elders LOVED the package mom!! You made their whole day, and they have your note hanging up in their office! haha

Things are going great out here!! We are doing great!!  Contacts are really paying off, and we definately are being blessed!!  Im a little nervous for this leadership, but i know Heavenly Father will bless me!

You are all so amazing!! Thank you for all you do!! I love you all so much, and i am so grateful for you!!  You are the greatest family/friends EVER!!!

Sorry its not too long this week i just dont have too much time i had to go to my Physical Therapy!!  Ps my knee is doing great!! haha

Familia!! Sorry i didnt write yesterday!! It was such a crazy day!! So we got up, and i had to be in the offices by 10 to head down to my physical therapy which is like an hour away! And because today is Pday we are going to go bowling. So i needed to write you guys in the morning, because i would be at the therapy when we had our internet time! So we looked everywhere, and all the internet places were closed until 10 am! It was so frustrating!! So i had to go to my appointment and the plan was i was gonna try to make it back in time to meet my zone. But the therapy took a little longer, and i wasnt gonna make it back in time, so i called them and told them they could just go without me. So we started to drive home, but then i realized we actually are really close by the bowling place, why dont we just meet them there, but the elder i was with was like no we need to go back to the offices first. So we drove all the way back, and i found out that the elder i was with his zone was down bowling as well, so we could just go together, so we took a taxi, and met up with our zone. It was a lot of work to meet up with them, but we did it! And by the time we got home, p day was over, but our zone leaders are cool and are letting me right today!! So this week has been so great!! I love being in 3 areas!! There is so much work to be done!! If one appointment falls through, no big deal we have plan b c and d! Haha i love it! Plus our contacting is skyrocketing!! We are getting more than a 100 now its so great and we defiantly are seeing the blessings through it! So way funny story. We were meeting with this old couple Named Rosa, and Antonio. They are so funny, and so nice. So we taught about the restoration, and they loved it!! So when all was done we asked Rosa to say the prayer, and she was really nervous to do it. She started out just fine, and then all of a sudden i start to hear some words that were really familiar. I looked up and say that she had the book of Mormon opened and was reading the introduction, as part of her prayer!! haha i was so hard to keep myself from laughing!! Then after she finish that, she was about to turn the page to keep reading, and then i just said, AMEN! And she looked up and asked was that good? haha she was so sweet, i was like that was great, Heavenly Father
loved it!! She then had the biggest smile on her face!! It was so funny!! So we had fast sunday this past week, and how amazing in the blessings through fasting. All day Saturday we werent really seeing any progress, but then at about 8 we just started to contact and we werent really having any luck, but then we knocked on this one door, and a lady peeked through the window then shut it quickly. Normally this means they want nothing to do with us, and normally we would just start to walk away, but for some reason none of us moved. Then about a minute later, she opens the door, and has the biggest smile on her face! Right away she opens her gate, and is like do you want to come in? I WAS SHOCKED!! Never had we been asked to come in! She let us in and we sat down, and she was like, ok who are you guys? Haha so we told her we were missionaries, and we want to share a message with her, and all that jazz. but then we asked why did you let us in? She said because you looked so happy and friendly and i could feel that it was right!! Crazy i know right!! It was incredible!!!! We were so blessed!! And she talked about how she has mormon friends, but never really took the next step in to getting to know more about their religion, but she always wanted to. Its amazing how the lord prepares people for us!! She had no idea who we were or why we were knocking on her door, but through the spirit she was told it was right!! Im so excited to keep teaching her!! Her name is Nancy. She is a nurse, doesnt have any kids, and isnt married!! Keep her in your prayers!! I love being out here!! It is incredible!! SO many crazy and awesome experiences!! There isnt anywhere else in the world i want to be than here in peru!! Thats so great about the yard!! I cant wait to see it!! I cannot believe that this next week is graduation!! Holy Cow!! For westons call i guess Peru Lima North baby!! Hes coming here i can feel it!! Plus he was the one to guess im going to Peru!! Let me know, but i know im right!! haha Oh yeah fun fact. The family Gozmen, remember my first family i baptized. They are very actice, Royelio, he is now a high priest and has a calling and they are preparing to go through the temple. Plus a bunch of my old investigators are getting baptized as well!! I love it!! Thanks for finding the DVDS yeah english is just fine!! Thank you thank you!! Also i need so other things, my oil container broke so i need another, and the elder that was staying in my room with fonseca stole my usb thing that i plug my memory card into to send pictures!! Rude huh!! But i cant really do anything about it, cause he is in Bolivia now, but could you send another!! Also my pensionisa really wants a picture of her baptism. Does uncle kent have one? I love you guys got to go!!

Momma! and family

So the first three days of this last week i was sick! Monday night and tuesday day was the worst. I ended having a stomach infection so i literally was in the bathroom every fortyfive min. Not a fun night. But i got some meds and im all good now. Plus literally every member had there own secret remody to heal my stomach. A couple of them were all making me tea and some herbs stuff that was absolutely terrible. My pinsionista took good care of me too. I tried to do a lot better at studying and what not this week. I love reading the old conference talks they are the best! We had a really cool sunday yesterday. Last week we didnt have any investigators show up to sacrament meeting and yesterday we had 7 come! It was cool and i cant lie i was bragging to the other two missionarys in the ward because theyre always bragging about how many they have. So me and my comp decided walking all the time is boring and since im a genious we decided to make some sling shots for all the dogs and frogs and night! Really makes walking around all the time a bit more fun. It was kind of just a plane week this week. We had some pretty good lessons. We have this family and they have two boys and literally they are like me and myles when we were little. It even made me tear up watching them, and it might of been the fact that i hadnt eatin in two days. But really the one looks like myles, his name is Eddy and he is the funniest 2 year old i know. He calls me his Gringo Amigo! ha ya well Nothing too exciting. Love you! reg
