Elder Collins

Hello Family!!!!
Well  this week we had problems with one of our district leaders. He was a zone leader and so he should know what is expected but when my comp talked to him about some stuff he shouldnt be doing he got mad and has been a punk this week.  We decided to do a visit with him and try to help him make better choices!  It was a situation that we had to be really humble. We just went through everything he needed help with and when he realized that we had nothing to hide and that we were trying to help he got even more mad becuse he came looking for a fight but we didnt throw any gasoline on his fire! haha.
Im excited Myles is getting his call. Yes as soon as you record it send it to me!! the same day just incase i can get permission to watch it!  I have been telling everybody here and everyone is really excited for him! Im still really sad that i wont see him for 4 years and i still dont think thats fair at all!!

So.................THE DANCOURT FAMILY GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! Felipe, Magali and Patrick. It was a good weekend. It was my favorite baptism for sure. I love that family. Hno Felipe and his wife had been fighting and were on the point of separating before we got there. They are just really simple and just love their family and want to be happy together. We got to their baptism like 10 min late because we were bringing another family with us to watch it. When we got their they we all just siting together looking so happy. Everything went perfect with the baptism, and there was a good turn out too. Hna Felipe the dad has another child out of marriage and his ex never lets him take her and he had expressed to us that all he wanted  to have all his family in the church together. When we went to the temple i had fasted and prayed that the Lord would let that happen so that he would get baptized, well when we got to his baptism there she was, his other daughter sitting with him and his other two kids. He just said "i dont know what happened, she just told me to take her with me today" He was so happy to have all his family together. Another cool thing that happened is that after the baptism his mom who has been a less active member came up to us with tears in her eyes thanking us. She said " i have been praying that someone would help my son out, when i heard that you guys were teaching my son and his family i knew Heavenly Father was answering my prayers" She said " My friend told me that you guys were sent by him because only you guys could do it and not even me, his own mother could, thank you!" Wow!!! I felt the spirit so strongly in that moment. I learned this weekend the sweetness of being the answer to someone elses prayers. I dont say that as braging but in gratitude that Heavenly Father gave me that oportunity.
I love you all have a great week!

Hello Family and Friends!
How is everything going?  I hope just great!
So this letter is coming just a little bit later than normal, well actually this is pretty normal for me, ever since I have been here I write later! haha  Anyway, we went to the temple today and It seriously was so amazing!  It was just what I needed!  These past couple of months have been so crazy, and busy, it's always so good just to go take a break and turn off my computer and phone!  It was really cool today because when we got there, I saw one of the teens that was from my ward in Tahuantinsuyo that was going through the temple for the first time!  It was cool to be there and go through with him!
So as you guys saw last week, everything got all set up, and the Wedding turned out great!  So this was our 3rd wedding that we have held, and I think we have become experts! It seriously was so organized, and in the end 15 of the 21 families got baptized!  The other 6 were just other couples that participated in the wedding.  But let me tell you we contacted them all!  We set up a system in the church with tons of missionaries from other zones with certain jobs.  We had different waiting areas for the couples to go through with their witnesses, and in those rooms we had missionaries contacting and teaching the people! We had tvs set up playing Mormon Messages and all kinds of stuff like that! It seriously was awesome! Plus we had places where we took their pictures, and we had the families write down their directions so we can send them the free copies of the pictures! So what we did was we printed off all the pictures and we're sending the missionaries to the houses to give them the pictures, and it's just the perfect excuse to enter into their house and share a message!  BOOM BAPTISM!!!  It's gonna be awesome!  But really everything went so good, and we even had other missions come to learn how we do it!  They asked me like how do we actually do it? So it was cool, I was able to take the other office elders from other missions on a tour and explain to them all that we are doing.  And not only missionaries but mission presidents!  One of them was President Borg!  Grandma and Grandpa Crump, I think you guys know him!  They say my name tag and right away asked if I'm from Utah, and I was like yes, and then thinking ok now last time this happened my pensionista told me that my Uncle Kent baptized her!  But they said are your grandparents Sherman and Ardyth?  Haha, so they said they are very good friends with you guys, and worked with you in the Jordan River Temple when they were the temple presidents. They send there love, and were very happy to meet me! Haha seriously, small world!  Anyway, it was cool to give them a tour and now president is having me and another elder write up a history of what we did, with maps and pictures to give to the next mission president and all the other missions. It really was such a great experience! President and Sister Blunck were so happy!

So this week has been great, I found out some more info about the new mission.  Apparently President Blunk is going to be sending the office elders to Iquitos at like the end of May to get everything ready for the new mission.  It's gonna be exciting to see all of the changes! I found some more stuff out and it's pretty crazy, but I still can t say anything yet! Sorry mom and Becky!  But hey, you totally got to tell us when and where Myles gets his call!!

So Mother's day is the 12th right, so yes I will be able to skype!  And yeah thats ok, I can talk you you guys later in the afternoon.  Just let me know what time is the best for you guys!!  I'm excited! Seriously, time has flown by so fast! I feel like It was just last week that I talked to you guys on Christmas!  Tomorrow to the date, I will have 18 months!! WOW! And tomorrow I have my interview with President Blunck!  I'm so excited, but sad, because it will be my last one!!!  Its going to be so sad to see him go!!

So things went great! We met up with Pedro again, this week we have a lesson with him and his wife, actually tomorrow! I'm excited!  Hopefully all goes well!  Plus the other night, we had dinner with a family and apparently two of the daughters arent members.  They are both older and have their own families.  One is living with her boyfriend and their 2 kids, and the other her boyfriend just left her and her 2 kids.  During our dinner she told us how she wanted to get to know the church for a long time, but her boyfriend always kept her back from doing it.  Now that he isn't there, she wants to do it!  So hopefully everything works out!

Well family I love you guys so much! I'm glad to hear everything is going good!

All my Love,

Hello family. Holy Trunky mom!!
Well this week has been pretty good. Yes, we baptized Carlos, he was really happy and the ward is really helping him feel welcomed. I think the bishop is going  to meet with him on tues to dicuss the possibility of a mission! We have been teaching some pretty good familys.    We are getting ready to marry one of the couples in may, its a little harder because she just moved here from colombia. They are way cool, the Soto family. We have also been teaching another family named the Dancurt family. They are a reference from one of the ward members. They have always accepted baptism but just not a date. They are super awesome, i dont know why but everytime i start teaching or baptize a family they become my new favorite family from the mission. The dad Felipe hasnt wanted to accept a date because he feels like hes not worthy to be baptized because of some old family problems. Well, ive been praying a lot for them to feel the spirit and to accept. Well...they are going to be baptized this saturday!! im super happy. In ward conference they all made plans to help us out. and they even made plans to get them in the temple exactally one year from saturday! I dont know what to think about my zone. We should turn out well this month but im not sure. Also im a little worried about next month because theyre kind of being lazy slugs and arent finding people. Well since im in Lima, Yes mom ill finally be able to skype you guys! The last ones a charm! haha. Im happy Myles is going on a mission and super bummed out that i probably wont see him. Well i hope your all doing well..Saw that the NBA playoffs are going on. totally forgot about that. Wish max would send me some stats. Have a great week, with love and then some Reg

Well there was a killer beer fest party outside my house last night...lets just say im tired haha!

Hey Family,
How was Anna´s birthday? Hope it was just a great one. Well the temple was just awesome!! I havent been in for so long, i feel like that should be against the rules for a missionary to go so much time without the temple. I was feeling kind of stressed with the zone before we went in but as soon as we entered i felt the strongest peace that i have felt in awhile. I think a learnded a lot more than ever this time too. So on saturday we had two baptisms. One of a little girl named nicole who has been wanting to get baptized for awhile now and the same with her dad but her parents arent married and her mom doesnt want anything right now. So finally we gave in and baptized her..i usually dont do that because i want the whole family but were still going to work with her mom to accept. Also we baptized Nixon, he is a 30 year old guy who started to get to know the church for a girl about 4 months ago and recently decided that he wanted to attend our ward instead of the other one and start learning to really change his life other than just doing it for a girl. he is Really sincere and has a big heart. He was a little hoodlim before but now he is just a good mormon boy. haha. We are working with another kid too named carlos who should be getting baptized this week. I wont lie i am sad that myles doesnt want to wait. I mean its great he wants to go on a mission but really 4 years is a long time! I dont think thats fair. Well i hope your all doing well and having fun. Tell sam i havent forgotten about him haha. Thats a funny dream. I do want to finish with nick so you should keep praying that the Lord sends revelation to Pres. to put us together. I love you all! love reg

Elder Collins

Well hello family!
Well this week has just been dandy out of its mind. Today we are going to the temple, it will be my first time in 17 months! So im pretty happy about that. I loved conference though! The brethren really nailed it. in overtime and everything. I loved Elder Perrys talk and Elder Hollands talk. They just told it how it is which is always great. I also really liked President Monsons priesthood talk. Yes, i got to watch it in English. We had us 4 gringos huddled around a computer screen watching it on internet. One of them even brought popcorn. haha. This week we had interviews with President Blunck. As zone leaders one of us has to go with his wife and do the room inspections so i went with Hna Blunck and checked the rooms and wrote down if they needed things in their room while she checked their english and one of the assistants checked their memory cards. My zone was pretty clean. Nothing of apostasy that we found. One funny and embarrasing thing that happened was the night before that, the assistants slept in our house and i had a picture of Elder Uribe´s girlfriend so i hung it up on the wall for when he got there and he thought it was funny but then i forgot to take it down, then Hna blunck came and she just looked at it and after i explained the situation and that we were just trying to be funny she said can i take that?..So i guess the next morning she went to Elder Uribes office and showed him and said look what i have.. He was kind of mad at me. haha.oops. My interview was incredible! the best one ever. He knew exactly what i needed to hear at that time. I think it ended up being like 25min. When usually its like 5. He just talked about the zone for a little bit and about how grateful he was for me and talked about the importance of baptizing families. It was really spiritual and he just said at the end of it all I love you Elder Collins and im grateful for all your doing. Afterwards i was talking with Elder Ortega about how it went and he told me that that it was probably my final interview with President Blunck!!" NO!!! i was so sad that i didnt realize that. I didnt realize the next time its interviews it will probably be with another president. I was kind of sad after. Well thats the story of this week. I talked with president about if me and Nick can finish together. I know where he will finish but we are not sure about me? So pray that he will receive the inspiration he needs! I love you all. Reg

Elder Crump

Hey family and friends!

Hows it going? I hope great! So first off,  Kenz I loved the pictures! Haha that little girl, Mia, is too cute! I can't wait to hold her!  Haha, Trev loved the Surfin picture.  i think your liviing out your dream man!

So CONFERENCE RIGHT!  Wow, always so amazing!  Seriously, it's so different out here in the mission! I regret so much as a kid not really paying attention to all of the talks.  Seriously, every talk was so personal and really made such a difference!  As usual, Elder Hollands Talk blew my mind!  And honestly I really like the Talk about Sister Daltons goodbye talk.  I totally new she was leaving, it was so powerful and spiritual.  But the best was the Fire story of President Monson.  It was so funny! haha It was nice we had everything all set up in the offices on the projector!  It was nice we got to watch it in english! It is so much better when its their actual voices!  But the best part was that there is going to be another temple in Utah!!  Haha, I kind of said it as a joke because an Elder from Virginia was like I hope it's in Virginia.  Then, I was like no, it's gonna be in Utah!  Really, what a blessing it is to have so many temples near us!  I do feel bad though, because It is so hard for members of the church who live where there is no temple to go to.  So this is a message for all of us in Utah, we should go to the temple often.  Heavenly Father needs his work done, and we are so blessed that in about a few years we will have 16 temples in Utah.  Speaking of going to the temple, we are going this month but not this week with Reg...But either way, we get to go to the temple, and I am excited! Seriously, I love the temple for 3 reasons 1. We feel the spirit like no other. 2. I always recieve answers to my problems or questions, and 3. I get to turn off my phone, and don't have to talk to anyone all day!!  Seriously, it is the house of Peace!!  I really am so excited, these past couple of months have been crazy, I really just need a day to get back into the spiritual side of the mission. Anyway, overall, I loved conference! And it was so weird because when the Prophet was like until we meet again in 6 months...and I was sitting there with Elder Fenn, and he turns to me and was like, we will going home 2 weeks after next general conference! I was like what, no!  We still have like only 17 months in the mission, he was like um no in 2 weeks  we have 18....that made me feel sick!  Boy, it's too fast! Sorry mom, but it is! But its ok, like I said before, it's my prime time!

Speaking of Prime time, so just yesterday, we found another family! It's the wife of a recent convert that the missionaries baptized before be got here!  She is awesome, but super hard with the missionaries!  She just loves living in the world too much!  She likes the church, and has friends there and loves that her husband and daughters attend, but she says it's not for her....WHAT! so you just want your family to have eternal happiness while you just sit there and watch...um i don't think so!  She may be a challenge, but we will work with her!   There also is some problems with not really having support from her family. They are all Catholic, and love to drink and party.  She doesn't want to miss out on that with her family.  It's a little frustrating, but like I said we are working with the ward now, so hopefully we will see some progress! Davis and Mary are doing great, but are just getting all the paper work needed for the divorce. Man it's so stressful, and difficult to get people married here, but like 2 times worse to get them separated! haha

So mom, I know you are dying, but still no new news on the new mission.  I do know that Presidente Gomez is from Mexico, and they are older like 55 ish. They don't have any kids at home, but I think a few in the mission field.  Hopefully, we´ll see a picture soon.

Hey, so that is so awesome about all the missionary calls! Seriously, there are going to be so many missionaries in the field!  How many will be out just from our ward? I feel like 20! maybe more!  No mom, Russell went to Texas Speaking Vietnamese.  His family is from Vietnam.

So Vegas sounds like it will be fun.  Hey mom, be careful.  I believe you can do it, just make sure you leave with plenty of time, so you don't miss your plane! Haha,  being here, and sending off Elders on planes, has made me so much like dad I get so paranoid and send people off so early!  But hey, all those years that we laughed at dad, I now understand why he was like that whenever we traveled!  So mom listen to what dad has to say! haha

Well, this P day is going to be a little boring.  I have to get somethings done, and all the others are just wiped out, so we are just going to relax today.

Well family, I hope all is going well with you guys!  I love hearing about all of your stories and what's going on in your lives!  I am so grateful for all of my family and friends and your support.  The mission, trust me, isn't easy, and no one ever said it would be, but it will be worth it.  I love being here.  It is like no other to step into the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  I am so honored to be here doing his work and preaching his gospel. I hope you guys have the best week, and I can't wait to hear back from you guys!

Family and Friends!

So right off the bat, I just want to tell you what's been going on in our area!  So this last week was so awesome!  We have been trying to go visit more members to get references, because we need help.  With our limited time, references are the key!  So we have been really getting to know the ward, and finally my companion is getting to know where people live in our area! Haha,  we went and talked with the Bishop about somethings that we would really like to see happen in our ward.  First off it was the Home teachers, and Visiting teachers.  There are so many less actives in our ward, and recent converts need to get the new member lessons.  So he decided that he was going to talk with them and this Sunday.  Then I was like, hey Bishop, do you know how we could talk to everyone about this?  He was like how?  IN WARD COUNSEL!!  Haha,  then he was like your right, we need to start having ward counsel! Haha,  plus we need to have a class for those new members, GOSPEL PRINCIPLES.  He was like Elder Crump your right, it would help out all those new memebrs! Haha, oh boy, I was just dying it was so funny!  This ward is so great, but they are just a little behind on the program!  So this Sunday comes around, and ALL three things that we asked for happened!  The bishop called a sister to be the Gospel Principles Teacher, we had ward counsel, and after church everyone went out and visited their home teaching families! Haha, it seriously was so aweome!  But the best was what happened in ward counsel.  So we get up infront of everyone, and we talk about the people that we have, and seriously this ward is so crazy! They get so excited!  We talked about this one family, and the elders quorm pres is like, hey he is my FRIEND!  I'll go with you guys!  Then the relief soc. pres is like and his wife, I know her!  I'll go to her house and read scriptures with her!! Haha, it was such a blast!  They all are on board and want to help us!  But what topped it all off, was during testimony meeting, almost 80 percent that went up talked about how they need to change and how they want to help the missionaries. Now we have sweet little old ladies, like 90 years old, offering to come out with us to teach! Haha, I see some big changes coming for this ward!  I'm just happy that we spoke up!

Anyway, with all that, things are truly going great.  Through the members, we are finding more and more people.  Hopefully, this month, we will be seeing so progress and some baptisims!

So yesterday was the Zone Leader Conference, and it was a good one!  For some reason all of the flights from the Jungle came in super late.  There were no other flights, so all the missionaries got here at like 9:30 to 10 p.m.  It was pretty crazy, because we had to get everything all ready and set up, and clean for the next day and the conference!  But hey it was perfect, becuase we had like 14 zone leaders that just came from the jungle, and they just LOVE to mop floors and set up chairs and tables!!  Haha,  It was all good though!  The next day was pretty crazy, because president talked more about the missson Iquitos.  He told them that he will be sending some of the elders with their second suitcase to take to the jungle with them to be in the Iquitos mission.  He did this, because normally when you go to the jungle you only can take ONE suitcase, and you leave the onther one here in a closet in Lima.  But now with this new mssion, all the Elders that are going to be going to Iquitos need to take both.  So president pretty much just told all of them where they were going to be.  For example, he was like um Elder Wilson you need to bring your second bag with you to the jungle and Elder Cruz, um you can bring the bag of Elder White because you will be here in Lima!   Haha, it was crazy!  Things are starting to heat up, but still we dont know much about the new president in Iquitos.  Only his name, and that he is from Mexico.

I'm glad things all went good with Easter!  Haha, it was funny Elder Collins asked me wait it's Easter this week? haha  He got his package mom and he was super happy! haha  So mom I sorry for what happend with the missionaries, stupid baby losers!   Haha, but you know sometimes things come up!  But man did those Elders miss out!  I miss your food so bad!  I have been craving roast and twice baked potatoes!!

Well guys, I am super excited for this weekend it going to be so awesome!  I can't believe how fast this 6 months have flown by!  Seriously, its going to be so cool to see all the progress of the missionary work!!  I'm excited, but nervous, to what the Lord has next for us!! It's so cool to be apart of all this change!  The Lord is truly pushing his work to be done.  As missionaries and memebrs  we need to do all we can to help others prepare for the second coming.  Trust me its coming!

Family, Friends, I love you guys!  You're all amazing! I loved seeing that picture of Korb and his Baptism of Davey!  What a stud!  Proud of him!  Anyway, today we are going to the Zoo! I'm excited. I'll take some good pictures of the Giraffes for you and me mom! And the monkeys for Hudbud!

Have a great week! I love you all!

Elder Collins

Hey,
hahaha those man vs wild clips of sam were awesome! i couldnt really see a thing but it was still cool. Hey quick question was it Easter yesterday? Or is it this week..Did i miss Easter? I mean i knew it was the holy week but i wasnt sure if it was the same thing. Well this week was just dandy. We actually received a lot of references which was pretty cool. As a zone we didnt reach our goal for baptisms which kind of bummed me out. We were going to do it but everyone just decided to let there dates fall. Chambones! But we are starting out the month with 24 dates so thats cool, its actually really good because the most that this zone has ever baptized in comas is 16. So we were going to have a baptism this week but we realized its going to be conference so we called the dude up last night and asked him if he wanted to be baptized yesterday. He said" well ya i gotta get baptized." So we had a baptism yesterday of Alan Pinto. It was pretty cool. I have two wards and it was the first baptism in 6 months for one of the wards so that pretty cool too. Yesterday in one of the wards an old guy gets up to speak on the atonement...wow. He gave the single greatest history of Abraham Lincoln ive ever heard! haha! it was really funny. I dont know why but the spirit impressed him to talk about Abraham Lincoln. Weird. Well this week i have been thinking a lot more about the Savior being the holy week and what not. I never really have taken a step back and thought wow years ago Christ died this day and then on sunday thinking wow he resurrected this day. My testimony grew a lot more for the Savior this week. I thought a lot about his perfect love and how it would be to have perfect love. How he knew that he had to suffer and die but never was really prepared for what he went through. I had a lot of moments this week thinking about the atonement and in my mind saying thats so cool but then thinking its so real!! Im really grateful for the savior and all that he did. I feel honored to represent him. Im super pumped for conference. Im sure it will make me trunky watching it in english and what not but hey its cool. I love you all a bunch and then some! Have a great week. Love reg
