Elder Collins

Hi Family!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Im so glad that you got my letters! ive been worried that no one has recieved any of my letters! They said they would do a rush delivery so that you would get them in time for Christmas! Haha i love the picture! im still trying to figure out how to send some pictures to you! I miss you guys so much and im grateful that i now realize how much i love my family. Most missionarys here talk about there friends a ton but all i can talk about is my family! So here for Christmas they spend all day Christmas eve preparing a big meal and party and then at midnight they shoot off fireworks and eat. haha kind of different you would think its the fourth of july or something. today is our Pday. It should be a fun day. We get to email in the morning then if we want do laundry but who wants to do that on christmas eve. then were having a big lunch for like two hours. Its suppossed to be good food but im not to sure about that..i know for a fact im going to be missing some italian cooking tonight! Then we have two movies! ive been saying that if we get to watch lion king on my mission i know the church is true, well i guess the Lord really wanted me to strengthen my testimony because we get to watch lion king and polar express!!..in english!!! Tommorrow we get to watch mr. krugers christmas. What movie are you guys seeing today? Then after the movies we just get free time and we have a soccer tournament under the lights tonight! its so fun playing under the lights! Its funny because the Latinos always think they will destroy us but they never realize how aggresive we actually play! we made the ultimate team of north americans we cant be beat it gets pretty heated and its our chance to take some aggression out on the annoying latins.haha that probably sounds bad. tommorow is church and a temple walk and thanks to my request to the president we get to have cinnimon rolls for breakfast! hear that Max? ill just pretend your sitting next to me eating one with me tommorrow! I have some good friends here but im sad because they are in a different mission. Elder Levos, Elder Hyde and Elder Hales. and i dont think i have told you about my new latino companion that ive had for the last three weeks! his name is Elder Avila and he's from Peru. I love him so much more than my last one. He is so nice and just cheerful person. i think its because he's from Peru and not Mexico.  I have noticed the medication working a little bit. The biggest thing im doing to just being freakishly positive about everything. when i do this it makes me realize how much complaining goes on and how much i used to complain. I love Elder Packard so much and am so grateful for his help. i dont know his first name but im sure i can figure out some how. I cant tell you thanks enough for all of your support. it helps me out so much! im way glad to here that Myles didnt break his ankle! geeze that could have ended the season for good. I miss you guys so much! i cant wait to open my package i was going to wait until later tonight. What did everybody ask for? Whats Santa bringing? You have to let me know what everyone gets. Thanks again for the 25 days of christmas letters its so nice being able to read one everynight and i love being able to read your guys letters! i love getting letters! Im going to miss being home for Christmas and i know dad always laughs when i say this but this time its more real it just doesnt feel like Christmas sometimes. But hey i think that is maybe a good thing. Tell everyone thanks for sending me packages i hope i get them all. hopefully they all know to send them to the mission home and not this postoffice. I hope you guys have a great night! i honestly cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and love. i know thats the only way i can make it through the day! Im really nervous to go out into the field and leave Nick but ive been praying like crazy to be blessed with a great first companion. I hope my mission president is nice too. Last saturday we went contacting again and i got into 4 houses and taught 4 lessons. We got one guy named Julio to pray and he started crying after and i gave him a book of mormon and promised him he would know its true if he just read a little bit of it and prayed about it! I love you guys so much! have a great night and know that im constantly praying for you and miss you so so so much!!! Merry Christmas thanks mom for all that you do and thanks Dad for your advice i always need it. it seems like forever to be here but i hope i start getting used to all of it. Love you so much!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Elder Crump

Merry Christmas family!!!

I cant believe its already christmas eve!!!  This place has been so much fun!  So I have some news..Elder Collins and I are companions no more!  But its ok, the kid that came in just barley got his visa, he has been in provo for the past 7 weeks so they decided to let him spend his last 2 weeks here!  He is way nice, his name is Elder Stephens and he is from Texas!  I was sad to not be with Reg, but its good, because on Wednesday who knows where we will be going, and its good to slowly separate, instead of just cold turkey!  So today is going to be a party!!!  We have P day all day long!  So first off we get to email for an hour today which is good, because we dont get to call! (Hey but be ready just in case on wednesday or thursday, because sometimes if your mission president is way nice they might let you call when you get to your area!  So be ready!)  But yeahg after that we get to go hang out, do laundry, write letters, and take pictures!  Then at Lunch we are having a Christmas Eve Feast!  Our president ordered food for each of us to have three helpings!!  Its going to be a buffet of delicious (real food) and its gonna last all day long!!  Then at like 2 we are watching movies!  Guess what one of them is?  The LION KING!!!  I almost squealed like a little girl when I heard that!  haha then we are watching the Polar express!!  One of my favorites!!  Then We have dinner, and we are playing board games after,(UNO!:))  I am stoked!  I will keep the crump name alive by destroying at that game!! haha!  Then best of all we get to play soccer under the lights!  For like 2 hours!!!  I am so excited!! we have the dream team!  We are unstoppable!!  Yesterday we dicovered it!  Its , Elders; Crump, Collins, Fenn, Richardson, Levos, Hyde, Hales, Chatwin, Fackrall, and Stephens!  We are awesome!  I had like 2 goals yesterday, elder collins had one, and between the others we had like 5 more goals!!  I am so excited for tonight!!  We are gonna dominate the Latinos!! haha  Then after soccer we are watching Mr. Kreagers Christmas, i dont think i have seen that one but I hear its good!  Its gonna be such a fun day!!  I am sad that i am not home, but im having so much fun that i am not feeling homesick!  Which is so good!  Heavenly Father has really been blessing me while I`m here!  There are days that are harder than others, but whenever i am feeling discouraged, i kneel down and Pray, and Instantly i am filled with the spirit!  I love it here!  I have made so many friends, and i think the hardest thing is going to be having to say goodbye!  But i am so excited to get out there!  I am still terrible at spanish, haha, but I know the Lord will bless me and tell me what to say!
So we went tracking again last saturday, and It was awesome!  A little scary because elder stephens and I are both White, and dont know hardly any spanish!! haha But it was good because we got to have one of the missionaries in the area with us!!!  We Talked to a lot of People, and we actually taught a lot more lessons than i thought!!  But the coolest was we came upon this old lady and she was so sweet!  She started telling us her life story and kind of was rambling on, and she talked about all her dissablities that she has and how she doesnt belong to any church.  So when we brought out the Book of Mormon, she started to cry, and was so happy that we found her!  It was such an amazing expirence, that shows me that there actually are people who pray everyday for some missionaries to come knock on their door!  I know that there are people waiting for me, and i know that if i am intune with the spirit, i will be directed to them!  This was an awesome day, and even though i couldnt understand her, and she really couldnt understand me, we both felt the spirit, and thats all that matters.  I cannot wait to find these people!! I am so excited!!  I just wanted to tell all of you how much i love you all!  Thank you for your support, your love, and your prayers!  It makes it so much easier to be out hear knowing that back home i have peopole who love and support me!  I am so grateful to be a missionary!  I am so lucky to be here, and i cannot wait for what adventures lie ahead!!
Merry Christmas again!! Corinne Congrats on Finals!! I have been praying for you constantly so im glad you did good!! I am so proud of all of you!  I hope you all have a merry christmas!! I love you so so much!!  May we always remember the true meaning of christmas, and live it throughout the entire year!  Remember what Christ has done for, us and if you do, I promise that your life will be blessed forever!!
I love you so so so much!!
MERRY CHIRSTMAS!!!
All my Love,
ELDER NICOLAS COLLINS CRUMP

Elder Crump

Hey Family how are you! I love Wednesdays too! They are the greatest!! So things here are going great! Last Wednesday we got to go into the city, and go touring around! It was by far the greatest day here! It was so cool! First we went to the a catholic monastary, and toured around it! It was so sweet! It felt like i was in the game assasins creed! There were so many, painting, sculptures, and stuff that dates back to the 16th century! There was so much history! They have this library that has like first additions to so many books! It was such a cool historical place! Oh then we got to go down into the catacombs! Now was so cool! It was full of bones, full skeletons from the 16th century! The placed was lined with skulls, and bones! It was way creepy, but so cool! Then we got to go just hang out in the city! We went shopping in the stores, and the little shops, i got you guys some good stuff! Its funny but i know you will like it! I think im gonna send some stuff home after i leave here, so i will just be a late christmas present for you guys! Then we got to go and get food! Real food! It was so amazing! I never realized how much i missed pizza! Haha it was so good!! It was such a fun day! The president and his wife are so nice, and they bought us all treats, and they took us around all over looking at stuff! I got some really cool pictures! I cant wait for you to see them!! Im gonna try to send pictures i think i figured out how to do it! So things have been going really good with Reg! I love that kid so much! We are having so much fun out here, and its making it fun for everyone! Haha story time at 10:15 each night is the greatest! There are at least like 15 elders that cram into our room, and they all sit around my bed! Its so funny! The christmas decorations really are so awesome! Everyone is jealous of our room, haha its so festive! They all say they love you momma crump for the stories! It makes their night! So everything has been going really great! I feel like i know more and more spanish everyday! Our lessons are going really good, but its getting a little annoying, because we are kind of getting sick of just teaching our teachers! Were ready for real investigators! Haha i cant wait to get out there! I know i am not gonna know like any spanish, but it will be ok ill learn! I cant believe its almost christmas! Its wierd to think that it is cold back home, because it is so hot here! The only time it feels like christmas, is when we are in our rooms with our christmas decorations, and because we crank the AC way low so it feels like Utah! Haha i dont think our latins like it too much, but its all good! So guess what we got new latins, and i didnt get one this time! I was the only elder who didnt! Mine for some reason didnt show up! A part of me was fine with it, but i miss having a little latin buddy always at my side! haha so now im in a trio with Elder Reg, and his! So pretty much he is my companion too! His name is elder avila! He is way nice, and he is always trying to do stuff for us! He is really good at soccer, which is no suprise, but i give him a run for his money! I scored on him the other day! Haha he wasnt too happy about that! But no he is awesome! Today after the temple, he bought elder collins and i a pizza! We were like what!! He is too good to us! I think next time we go out im gonna buy him something for christmas! Oh yeah this is way funny last night, he was looking at my ties, and he saw our mission prep tie that all of our friends signed, and was like amazed by it! He wanted it, and was like how much for it? I told him it was special to me and i cant sell it to him! Then he just starts whipping out all this money! I was like no no sorry i cant! Then he is like please! And he offers me 250 soles, which is like $120 bucks in america! I was like no way! I CANT TAKE YOUR MONEY! Haha i told him sorry, but i think he understood! Haha maybe thats what ill have to find for him, a really cool tie! I really do love it here! This place is so beautiful, and i feel the spirit so strongly! I am so happy to be here with reg, he has such a big heart for everyone that he meets, and i know he is going to be such an amazing missionary! We were meant to be here together, to help eachother out! He has helped me so much, and hopefully i have helped him! I know that Heavenly Father will bless us on this mission! I know that he will always be with us when we need him!
So i have gotten a bunch of letters from you guys! The last one was about the peru article, and where BYU destroyed Hawaii! Man i miss football! Really football! Anyway i have sent like 5 or 6 letters to you guys so i dont know whats going on there! They should be just fine on postage, because it goes through the pouch system! If you could would you send stamps? I cant buy any unless i go to the post office! And we never have time to go! I hope everything is going good with corinne, and trev in finals! Tell them good luck and I love them!!
I love you guys so much! Hopefully you get my letters soon!!
All my Love,

Hey family,
I just first have to say thank you! Mom if you hadnt of called i probably woudlnt have had the opportunity to meet with Elder Packard. I had probably the hardest week of my life last week. i have never felt so down and alone and i still in the MTC and nick is here!! but i dont know i guess my problem is i think way to much about the future and about home. I love Elder Packard! he is such an amazing man and has helped me a lot. I just started medication yesterday so hopefully it can help me out. Talking with him helped me calm down about my fears. Ive met with him like 4 times already and i look forward to each time i get to. He helped me determine my stress is triggured from fear of safety and fear of failure. He has helped me by giving me techniques and other things. He is trying to help me learn how to control my thinking process. One thing that helps is if i look at things as possible and likely. Is it possible that i could get hurt out here? yes but is it likely i will get out here? no. That helps me a lot but i still do get worried over things like that but hopefully the medication can help me. Thank you so much for your prayers, i know i could feel them blessing me with comfort. I just felt like i wasnt recieving help when i prayed last week because i wasnt recieving any peace or comfort. I would pray my heart out and i would still feel just miserable. We had a lesson in priesthood about joseph smith and the first vision. Just as it seemed as he was going to give up to total destruction he saw a pillar of light. I guess i like to think of that as a version of me. I know dads right, i needed to be completely broken so that he could build me back up. im doing a lot better now. im glad they emailed you or at least said they did to let you know they were helping me. Im still going to hopefully talk to Elder Packard before i leave and a couple of times throughout my mission. He is so nice and cares about me a lot! I love you guys so much and am so grateful for all that you do and that you are always here for me. Im glad i have nick here with me too! i truly believe we were sent to the same mission for this purpose, i think it was for me, who knows there might be more but im glad to have him here. and i also make sure he doesnt smoke any weed!haha sorry i just had to say it. Thanks family for your prayers. So enough with the depressing stuff so hopefully my hair will start coming back once i start feeling all the way better again, cause im almost positive im thinning.  Hows home? hows everyone? how is the nfl going? is the NBA lockout over?  Did myles brake his ankle *and dont worry you can tell me that kind of stuff it wont freak me out i was just having a terrible day* anything new? and did you get a good tree or at least one that i would approve of? I finally got some mail! so that really made my day! those pics were way funny of me and elder hjorth he just bearly left to honduras. So all of the latinos went into the field so we got to go on a tour of downtown Lima, we had time to shop and buy pizza or burgers oh man i love eating pizza. It was a good time. We got to tour the old monestary there. It was pretty freaky! tons of creepy pics of saints and virgin mary and there was statues of christ on the cross everywhere. We even got to go down into the catacombs! There was so many bones it was freaky! After president bought us all custard filled churros which are better than funnel cakes. I bought Myles max anna sam some of those llama hat benie things but i dont know if you will be able to recieve them til after christmas sorry but just know i still got you presents. I got a new latino comp earlier this week too! this one doesnt speak any english but i like him so much more. he is such a nice kid and is always trying to buy me stuff. Im teaching him some english and i really have noticed progress in my spanish just this week trying to communicate with him. His name is Elder Availa hes from peru so thats cool. nicks never showed up so we do a treo when we teach, its a lot easier haha. Hey i was thinking i might have a check from work so if you wanted you could check it would hurt you can take the family to dinner or something on me! Our president is trying to make christmas eve fun for us. he has been asking us for ideas and i told him to give us our candy back and he said he would!.. the whole mtc owes me for that one! Im trying to figure out how to send emails with pictures so i can show you some stuff. I miss you all so much!!! im pretty sure it came quicker to me than most people but you guys were right. this is for myles and max...Im sorry for ever being rude or mean to you guys and not for being the best older brother all the time. i really miss you guys a lot! your my best friends and i wish i would have hung out with you more before i left. I hope your having fun in school and making good choices. Myles if your ankle is broke i pray that it heals fast and same with maxs finger. I also hope the Packers are still undefeated because they were the last time i heard. I love you too a lot and cant wait to be able to give you a hug and teach you some spanish!! i just got maxs letter today but i havent read it because they always make me cry so i have to wait so no one can see me.  Tell Anna and sam i miss them like crazy! hows vollyball going for anna? is sam playing J jazz? if so i want pictures! i want more pictures of everything! Thanks mom and dad for your help i couldnt believe how soon they talked to me after i sent that email. Im blessed to have you as my parents. just to let you know they might change our Pday to sat next week for christmas eve so dont be worried if the email doesnt come on wed. Im doing better and hopefully i will be better than ever pretty soon! I love you all so much and miss you! stay warm and what not! thanks!

Hey i am gonna read your emails after i write so i can have time! This week was awesome! We are becoming more and more comfortable in teaching everyday! So i was a little sad because here in peru they dont celebrate thanksgiving! So i was feeling really homesick, but then all of a sudden we walk into the cafeteria and there is ACTUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD! I was freaking out! Turkey mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie(homemade) and all the works! It made my whole day and made me feel so much better! Then the president got up and talked to us and started to cry. He said he knows how hard it is to be away especially on holidays, so he just wants all of us to know how much him and his wife love us, and how grateful they are that we are here, and he said he feels like our parents, and he is so proud of us! It really turned everything around! But yeah the rest of the week was good too! The language is tough, but were managing! haha Being District Leader isnt too bad, i am understanding more, the problem is i just dont know how to respond! haha The Temple is amaing! Its so small! I love it! It helps me out so much when we go to the temple each week! The spirit is so strong! I cant believe that we have been out so long its been like 5 weeks! thats crazy! I hope thanks giving went good! I wrote you guys some letters so you should be getting them soon! and im gonna write some more today! I love you so much! Everything is going great! We got some cool pics! Ill try and find a way to send them through email! Oh yeah i have been so good i havent looked at any of my packages! I cant wait to open them! I cant wait to go check the mail! Mail takes so long to get here that when it does everyone gets so happy! haha well i love you! If i have more time ill write more!
All my Love,
ELDER NICOLAS COLLINS CRUMP
sorry so short!

Elder Collins

Hey! i just got back from outside the prison. we went to the temple. It was way cool, the temple is super small here and all packed in tightly but it is still awesome. i tried doing some of the session in spanish but had to switch my translator on. I even tried a little in italian to see how dad felt. It is starting to get hot here and way humid so im always sweating. For thanksgiving they had all the N americans come to dinner an hour early and had a thanksgiving type dinner all ready for us. it was way nice of them. President got up to talk to us and just started crying. He told us how much he loved us and appreciated our service and that he knows how hard it is on our families to be gone and that he just wanted to feel as much at home as possible that day. We even got pumpkin pie and football. My team of course won! I almost wanted to cry because i was just complaining how he doesnt care about us and that he just wants to leave. And then he goes and does that. Also he extended his time to another year and a half. It was weird and kind of hard not being at home during thanksgiving knowing what you were all doing at what times of the day. How was the cabin did you get a good tree? Im trying so hard for the spanish to come, we have to go door contacting on saturday and im so nervous. When i tried to talk to the people at the store after the temple i just started panicking and couldnt remember any spanish. We play soccer a lot and hopefully i will get decent, i pulled my groin during the football game on thanksgiving so i have been super sore this week. the stairs havent been my friend. This is my last week with my latin companion. its bitter sweet. He is a nice guy and trys to help me with spanish but he is just super immature. All the latins here are, also they have  a tendency to be pretty lazy. Haha they take so long to get ready in the morning. also they talk about us but we can understand some of the stuff they are saying now so i can call them out on it. Hopefully i get mail this week it sucked not getting any last week have max write on my facebook wall what my address is so people will freaking write me. How is everyone doing? i wish i could see the snow. I miss snow. I look up the weather everyday here to see if its snowing. probably shouldnt do that cause it makes me sad. My teachers here are super funny and im trying to teach them some english so i taught me one teacher how to say"dude thats sick". haha he has the strongest acent when he says it so its pretty funny. I with i got more freaking email time. They dont even have a printer to print stuff off. I miss you so much and pray for you constantly. Hope all is well love you!!

Elder Crump

Hey,
Yeah this place is amazing! But its really hard! The language is so difficult ,and no one speaks a word of english. My companion and I talk a little bit, but we never have really had a real conversation.  My comp is like the only companion that cant speak any english! everyone elses can a little bit so its really frustrating!  The food is good, but the rice is getting old, and sometimes am afraid to get a lot, because if i dont like it, i still have to force it down!  we have 6 in our room Reg, me, and Elder Fenn, and our 3 latin companions! They are all really nice and really trying to help us learn the language!  So everyone has a latin comp and a north american comp.  You pretty much are only with your latin comp at the meals, and at night.  All the rest of the time i with reg, so its nice!  There are so many rules here.  Its worse than provo.  You cant have any food what so ever, outside of the cafeteria.  Whenever you have a free moment, you have to read the book of mormon, which is nice, but we have to have it completely read in three weeks time!  They are so unorganized here, and randomly they will get mad at you for something and all you can do is just sit there and do nothing because you have no IDEA what they are saying!  I just want to learn the language so bad!  That would make this place so awesome!  There are many more rules, its kind of crazy but i know i will be blessed by following them! Oh yeah i was made District Leader. Its awesome, but kind of stressful because half the things they tell me are in spanish so i am really confused most of the time.  Mail only comes like once a week, and not getting mail stinks!  But it just takes time to get here.  Sorry if it sounds a little depressing, it was just a roller coaster of a week!  But i really do love this place!  The soccer field is amazing, and the latins live for this sport!  Haha they get a little to into it!  Which is good because its helping me get better! haha This place is really beautiful! Ill try and send pictures as soon as i can! Our P day is on Wednesday. There is about only like a hundred people here, on like only 8 are sister missionaries! Well i love you guys hopefully ill get mail next week!  Keep us in your prayers! We really need it!  This place is very frustrating, but i know that if i have faith heavenly father will bless me!  I love you guys!
All my Love,

Elder Collins

Hey Everyone! so i have been here for a whole week now and it is very different from provo. Im am feeling a lot better now and am adjusting to the usual routine. i honestly wanted to go home so bad the first two days. My companion Elder Meza is good to have because he can understand english pretty well so he always wants to speak in english and will translate for me. The only down fall is that he is suppossed to speak spanish a lot so i have to pick up on it but he likes english. I think me and Nick are getting along real good down here. I am definatly grateful for him here so someone knows who i am coming from sort of. It sucks only emailing once a week and getting letters only once a week too. also not receiving any is a bummer too. The food is ok here. sometimes its just kind of bland tasting. The first four days i was having a hard time eating it and having to eat it all because they wont let you leave without finishing your plate. no wasting. So one night i prayed that i could start eating and learning to like the food and what do you know? Boom! spegetti for lunch. lets just say i know how to pray. The weather here is just warm, its not hot or cold its just always warm. There actually isnt even a word for warm in spanish the closest thing is caliente which is hot. The Latinos here are pretty funny. They cant ever remember if im elder crump or elder collins so most people just say Elder. Haha have you ever seen a Latino play basketball? that is a funny sight! One funny story, so there is this Latino Zone leader who just got called to that position like the second day we were here. He is so funny the power totally went to his head, he is only incharge of latinos but he likes to walk around with his folder and order people to do stuff including me but i cant understand what he is saying so i just kind of laugh. He is always creating his own rules, like the other day he declared that no one could do laundry and that one is going to email today!? haha ya right. but he was arguing with me the other day about if you practice teaching the same investigator everytime or if you change everytime i said you change and he didnt think so. So when the teacher walked in he gets up and yells "all the Norte Americanos say that its this way and all the Latinos here say its this way" haha it was just me and him talking but he decided to segurgate the whole Mtc. Ya i was right and he got quiet. Its hard teaching with the Latins because they just jump straight into the lesson and dont get to know the person they are teaching. then again its there first week out here so they havent learned how to begin teaching methods yet. It's funny because i know that if i could teach in English i could freaking already have like 10 baptisms! i feel like i have the basic principle of the first lessons down so well but i just cant say what i want to say. I was practicing teaching my teacher and i tried to say some stuff in spanish but i couldnt get it out correctly so he just told to say it in english. so i did and he said i did it perfect. I was hoping that we would be learning a lot of spanish here but it seems like they are just reteaching the same principles that we learned in provo. Why did you say it's a small world with Elder Hjorth? is he the Andrew from the village? if so thats way weird. i was wondering if you could send me grandma chases email, and mitch's email. I will write them letters but just tell grandma that she wont get it for probably a week but not to worry i didnt forget her. We are going to the temple today. and after we are aloud to go to the store and buy food but we have to eat it there. So i am going outside of the gates for the first time. The city that the mtc is in is pretty run down and trashy but it does look like some parts of california. you are always hearing sirens at night and people honking at eachother. Hopefully my mission wont have that as much. Well i miss you so much! i keep thinking how weird it will be when i come back and Myles is in College, max will start driving, anna in middle school and sam will be probably a whole different person! I love you so much and miss you a ton! thanks for all of your love and support to me!!

I made it!  I am officially a Peruvian!  Except im like 3 feet taller than everyone, and super white but its ok ill put some tanning oil on and slouch! Haha that was the longest flight of my life!  We were all split up all over the plan!  I think the church planed that...they are already giving us practice!  I sat by a lady from Mexico and her hame was Lilyanna!  She used to be mormon, but now she isn´t so we kind of talked a little bit about that, but she loves the church and missionaries!  So maybe she will come back one day!  I wanted to talk more but she kind of kept changing the subject! haha she tried to teach me spanish, She told me to say ¡Hola! Como estás?  haha i was like thank you! i think im gonna be set for life!  Well we arrived at like 11:30 and then we had to go through customs, and security, and finally clam our baggage!  All my bags made it!  so about this time its like 12:30 so we had to walk out of airport and there are like hundreds of little people outside of baggage clam, waiting for families, and friends!  It was a mad house!  They were all really friendly and were waving and pointing!  haha i felt like a celebrity!  Anyway so we like were waiting outside for our bus, and this thing just comes hauling in!  almost hits like 5 cars and parks perfectly!  It was a was nice bus with seats that recline way back!  Which would have been nice to take a nap because it took like 45 minutes to get to the CCM, but there was so much going on in the street that i had to watch!  Its like 1 in the morning and there are tons of people and cars just going crazy!  At a stop light a guys ran into the street and started juggling fire torches!  It was insane! i think that was the one time I ever wanted a light to NOT turn red! Haha only in peru!  They have like the coolest looking resturants here!  The are a like 2 stories and there are play places in them!  There is like a KFC, and McDonalds on like every corner!  Haha it was way funny!
The CCM is way awsome! its so small!  Were gonna go play soccer later and the field is beautiful! i cant wait!  Oh yeah i got a native companion his name is Elder Moreno and he is from Mexico! He speaks no english and is kind of quiet, but way nice, we both try hard to talk to eachother, but we havent been too successfull yet! haha  Oh yeah we get actually 2 companions We have a latin one that we are with in all our meals and P Days, and a Native american one who we are in class with!  Try and guess who im with...again!  Haha Elder Reg and i are together again! haha its awsome were in the same room!  This place is awesome! Super confusing, everyone speaks spanish!  But it will get better!
This place seems way chill but there are a lot of rules!  I´ll have to tell you a bunch of them later!  But here is one real quick, At every meal, you are supposed to eat slow, and you have to eat everything on your plates! They wont let you throw anything away, and you cant share any food with anyone!  I almost couldnt do it all at lunch!  The food was way good but they gave me this jello thing that was nasty, but i endured! Haha  I love you guys if i can write again i will!  I love you all so much! keep us in your prayers, we are gonna need them here!

Well im in Peru! its weird being here. The flight was really long and we didnt land until about 12. i hate flying! then it took us another hour to get our luggage and find the person who was supposed to pick us up. No one was at the airport to greet us and there was a ton of people everywhere surrounding us and holding up signs for other people but not us. I was getting really frustrated, no one had told us where to go. Some sister had the name of the person we were suppossed to meet but she had no idea what she was doing and was taking us no where! We finally found some lady who put us all on a bus to take us to the mtc. We didnt end up getting to the mtc until a little after 2. then when we got there the person who came out to greet us couldnt speak any english at all! he was getting frustrated with us because we couldnt understand him. we finally got our room and names of our companions. Me Fenn and Crump are in the same room again. Once we finally got settled down and were about to go to sleep our three latin companions had just arrived so they came in and we couldnt go to sleep until like 3am. They all seem nice but we cant understand anything they are saying. My companion probably speaks the best english out of all of them. His name is Elder Mez or Maz i cant remember he doesnt have a tag and i have only been with him once all day. He is 24 and from Mexico. Despite going to bed at 3 we still had to wake up at 6:30. We have two companions a latin one and a white one. My white one just ended up being nick again. we went to breakfast and i learned that they dont let you leave the kitchen until you have eatin everything off your plate. They have people at the doors checking if you ate enough or not. They sent me back. Then we had a short meeting with the Mtc president. It was just an awkward meeting and handed us a list of rules. This place is a lot more stict than provo. You cant have food in your rooms so we had to give them all of our food we brought and they said we would get it back the day we left. Then we had to go fill out a ton of paper work in spanish so none of it made sense and i thought that there would be at least a few people that would speak some english to help show us around but there isnt. They all just say some really fast spanish that i cant pick up on at all anymore, and i have no idea what they are asking me or telling me to do. After the paper work almost all but a few boys had to get haircuts so some lady chopped my hair off. The actual mtc itself is really nice. the bathrooms are nicer and the rooms are too. Its nice outside and but the sky isnt blue its gray. its really depressing actually. You cant see a whole lot from a distance cause there is a smog. So far the food is ok. We havent had anything weird yet so thats good. Im not going lie. i do not like it here so far. i know im probably sleeped deprived and that its only the first day but im really home sick! i cant stop thinking about how long two years is and that i dont think i can do it. I get teery eyed everytime i think of home. I even miss the provo Mtc a lot and my district. i wish i could go back there. I just dont feel like everyone is as caring here as they were in provo. It seems like there isnt anyone around to help me out. We got interviewed by our mtc president but it was only like a min long cause he didnt have a lot of time to talk to us and he just asked if we need to confess anything, to read the book of mormon in 19 days and asked to see a picture of my family. I didnt feel like he really feel like he cared at all. I just feel so homesick. its confusing and i just feel so down right now. Lima its self is really busy and kind of run down but hopefully my are up north will be nicer. I love you and miss you a ton!!!!

Hey Family and friends!  So I think this might be the last chance I can email before we head out to PERU!  Everything is going great here!  I was finally just getting used to this place and now we have to leave! But its ok, because I am so ready to get out of this cold weather!  Ok so guess what! Every sunday during sacrament meeting our president picks out two missionaries out of the crowd to give a 3 to 5 minute talk in sacrament meeting! Oh yeah and I has to be in spanish!  So we all have to prepare a talk, on a topic, and have it ready just in case!  So the day before i got asked to give the prayer in priesthood meeting, so i was like ok sure!  Then later that day they are like, since you four are leaving to Peru, were gonna have you guys bless and pass the sacrament.  Elder Collins and I were to bless the sacrament, and the other two to pass.  So i was like ok thats fine, i mean im nervous cause it has to be in spanish, but its ok!  Then Later that night they came up to me a third time, and said actually never mind you dont have to do either of them, your off the hook!  Um ok i have learned through experience that i can never trust the MTC in what they tell me, so i was like great they are gonna have me be one of the speakers!  So i made sure my talk was all set, and by all set making sure that i copied it correctly from Preach my Gospel in spanish! Haha  So we get into sacrament and they stand up, and sure enough they pick me, and a missionary that has been here for like 11 weeks!  I was so nervous!  I stumbled on a few words, but i think it was ok!  I mean i read from the paper like the whole time, but its all good!  Haha i told the missionary to say my spanish was muy bonita (Beautiful) when he got up, and he did and everyone laughed!  haha good times!  So how is everyone doing?  I love you all!  Mom if you could, can you find out shaunie, alta, and paige roberts address for hawaii?  I might send you a letter for them to send but when you find out can you just let me know thanks!
Thank you for the packages! I just picked them up! Everyone was so mad, and me cause i got like 5 from you!  Haha we had to hurry and hide them in our room, because everyone was staring at me when i picked them up! haha i loved it!  I cant wait to open them!  But its gonna be so hard to wait to open the others on christmas!!!!  But its ok i will do it!  Haha  I have loved it here at the MTC!  Its been such an amazing adventure!  I have met so many friends!  I am gonna miss like my whole floor of my dorm haha ok not all of them, i hate the kids that like wake up like at 5:30 to shower, but besides them i love everyone! haha  Well i am so excited to head out!  I'll call you when i get off the plane in Atlanta, so keep your phones on you and be ready!  Im sending the tape and my pictures to you tomorrow! I love you guys so much! All of you!

Holla como esta? Yo reciber mi mail after lunch and after dinner. So like 12:45 and then 5:45. I check my email everytime i get on the computer real fast. Im only suppossed to on P-Days but hey its just a quick look. I dont know if i need anything yet. you can send me some shampoo that makes your hair thicker! because everyone in my district knows im scared of balding so they tease me all the time about balding. But ill let you know if i think of anything before the end of the week. Do you know if stamps are more expensive there because i heard that they were. I dont think i need a phone card i think i just use pay phones. Tell max sorry about his finger. that sucks. We are getting new missionaries in our district today so we are not the new ones anymore. My district is the biggest one now in my zone. I had the coolest expirience yesterday! We were practicing teaching invetigators yesterday and one of my teachers was helping me out. He was explaining to me how to use questions so that the investigator ends up teaching himself with his answers. So i started and i ended up getting stuck at one point, so i looked to him and he just said listen to the spirit, listen and it will tell you what to say. So i turned back and just sat for like 10 seconds and then all of the sudden it just started to flow into me! Questions came to me and other things to say! it just kept coming. At the end of it i looked at my teacher and he said you just allowed the investigator to learn for himself that he needs to come unto Jesucristo and that he can do that by being baptized. I felt so cool! the spirit totally used me. I dont even know how that happended to me.
I am starting to be able to understand most of what people are saying to me in spanish. I cant speak it well at all yet but i can understand a lot of what is being said to me. I dont know why but the email about the temple never sent so i just resent it so sorry if i repeated anything but ya it talks about my travel plans. I feel like i just got settled in and now i have to leave, not sure if i like that.
Love you all and miss you!

Hey Family/Friends!

So it is laundry day again, and i succesfully did my own laundry, without messing anything up! (Knock on wood)  But yeah this week has been awesome!  It went by so fast!  We had to teach like three new people this week, so we practiced door contacting, and just more lessons!  But yesterday we had TRC which is where people, come in and pretend to be investigators for us to practice on!  but yesterday we had actual members of the church, like returned missionaries, and mothers that are lds and just are looking for something more in their lives!  We were so nervous, because first of all we had like no time to prepare a lesson, we had no idea what to teach them because we are so used to non members, and C. if we are teaching returned missionaries, they are already to good to teach its like they should teach us!  Ha ha we were nervous but we did it! the first one was a little shaky, but the next one was awsome! He was from Peru, and we just hit it off! Also he spoke a little english so it helped!:)  Well i have to go get a hair cut today! Im a little nervous they are not Tammy!  Haha so yes we leave on Wednesday at like 4:00 in the morning!  So i will call around like 12:30 to 3 before our next flight!  Well i love you guys!  I cant believe we are already going to peru on wednesday! i am so excited!!!!  Thank you for the letters and packages they are amazing!!! i love them, and i love you!  The drinks made it and they were delicious!  and the food, was divine!  Haha if you could can you send me the flip flops before we go, more stamps, but international ones, and anything else you think i will need!  I love you guys!  And dad i got your letter, i will do all what you said for the packing!  Dont worry!  Also i will send home pictures, and the tape on monday!  Cant wait to hear back from you guys!
